Taking a small break from environments to make this. Ive had this design in the back of my head for a long time. Here is a small preview. Rendered in Zbrush and composited in Photoshop. My Inspirations for this Weapon come from World of Warcraft, namely Frostmourne, the new death knight legendary weapons from Legion, and the countless hours I played my death knight as a teenager during the Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm xpacs.
My second fan art skin design for Hi-Rez! (First from an existing god Camazotz)
He still has that last bit of push doing in his sculpt with crystals and adding stones. Excited with how he is turning out though and want to design more of their character skins! He is game-ready just working on things. Absolutely having fun. Life happened so took more than a minute to make but it's all good! Can't wait to use what learned from this on more skins.
I'm using flowmap like distortion to get more interesting varation, currently don't have much to experiment with though. If anyone knows a ressource for flowmaps let me know. Normal maps as the distortion map works too but need to be blurry then. [This post has been modified for not respecting the WAYWO rules, please refer to the sticky - mod ]
