Scapulator, that's awesome! hahah
Yay Toph! that's lookin sweet, Giles
thanks a bunch WarrenM, ibarter, and Zocky! and sure thing, Makkon!
I don't think I have any special techniques or anything for eyes, but I'm starting to like to do eyes where you cut in a recess for the upper lid with claybuildup, then do the same with the lower lid, then smooth it out and refine with a sharp brush and more claybuildup as you solidify the roundness of the eyeball.
I made a gif in case that doesn't make sense:
I'm all ears if anybody has a better method!
as for curvetubes with hair, the curvetubes brush lets you draw a curve on your mesh and it'll create a cylinder that stretches along that curve. You can get really dynamic stuff this way, but the original curve usually ends up flat along your canvas axis, so it takes some finessing to get it to have a really nice flow and it's only really useful imo when you're dynameshing to clean up any nastiness that's occurring.

Shes sooo cool, yet soooo hot. It feels like if I keep watching her, she'll eventually get some of that tasty goo. But FUCK DAMMIT it never happens. Thanks for the breakdown!
Man you guys are so good it's ridiculous.
Empty: Those Techis are off the chain, such awesome character
Prolow: that rounding script looks great, man
Ferg: you're a madman, that Fightpunch sculpt is sick
Hazardous: Bliss looks awesome all posed up, it's really awesome seeing it progress on your twitch stream
It's impossible to name everyone else who's rocking it so hard, you make me feel like a poopsack. especially for letting contract work kick my ass.
I was trying to remember what it's like to do personal work like you guys so I did this Ice Cream girl since it's been so hot lately. Hope you dig it, I did a timelapse too if you're bored for like 3 minutes haha
thanks darren here's a little more progress lke i promised.
i really dig the scrap survivor street dred cyborgs of yours. so fashionable and sleeeaaakkkk. daft punk meets mad max win.
working on an anatomy base for a character Ive been developing in my spare time. Its all gonna be covered in the end but a good base is always good and for once its not gonna be a speedey haha
Man, WAYWO just gets crazier and crazier every year as everyone improves. So much amazing stuff in here.
I realized I haven't posted any art outside the Dota section for a while, or anything in this thread for a very long time. Here's a dump of the stuff I've been working on the last couple months. It's also a bit tough to explain which parts I made to people unfamiliar with the dota cosmetics system. If you want to see more, and more images you can check these all out on the dota 2 workshop.
current WIP:
Shoulders, skirt thing, bracers, hair
Helmet, horse, sword, shield, shoulders
Hair, shoulders/neck, bracers, skirt and side armor
I don't often make tutorials since like every artist I don't think I'm good enough yet haha, however given the amount of peeps having asked, I'll try and give some helpful advice as best I can
So far the Tutorials in the thread initially contains different ways to approach facial hair & masking. And my setup for the eyes.
But I'm going to update it more with these requests aswell;
Zbrush matcap/lightcap setup, (EDIT: now in thread <--)
Skin sculpting techniques,
Texturing techniques,
UDK Material,
But seriously guys my work is still mediocre haha
bb0x I've put my flats in there aswell
(scaled down)
How do you color the sculpted stubble? Some sort of selection mask in zbrush or cavity bake? Appreciate anyone's input on this. Great work btw Mask_Salesman
El Scorcho I made one of the tutorials specifically on this just for you
Although 'B' is the most useful certainly in Zbrush I prefer 'A' due to the flexibility it offers further down the line. Also just to mention I used the stubble as a selection to delete the excess normal colour.
scapulator That's fucking awesome!
I'm looking forward to that survivor Crazyfool, Beards are in fashion now
Little bit of work from me. I've been tweaking add adding to my space opera princess piece but I feel I need to re do the gold. But should be done soon.
Also for the past couple of days I've started on my full Cable character from Cable & x-Force. So hope you like it. I may get round to making a thread for the progress.
Started this back when the street fighter at jam was going on and ended up brushing it under the rug cause it wasn't turning out the way I had planned. Decided to pick it back up and made some major changes and I'm liking it much more now. Do you guys think the hands are too small?... I'm not very used to this chibi stuff.

homrighausen3d I love your phone booth. The whole thing is awesome. I also think LaurenceGEE 's powder cart is cool. Love the whole thing. It is hard for me to model cartoony and keep things modular. You do it nicely. Thanks for the inspiration guys.
Hey folks - just showing my quick update on my level. I still got a long ways to go where I wanted it but I think it's starting to take shape up a bit. :]
@ SveinY and Selaznog, if you're feeling superior how about offering some constructive advice? Polycount is known for harsh but fair criticism, not mean spiritedness.
@Mask_Salesman, Wow this looks incredibly useful, thanks for the resources! Especially the lightcaps, I really have no idea how they work. Your head turned out really well, I love the texture, need to learn how you did that stubble.
I've been trying to relearn anatomy and attempting to do a zbrush study. The arms are driving me mad, really not sure what I'm doing! [I know there are people on here who really know their stuff, so if anyone has time for a quick critique or two I'd really appreciate that!] Haven't worked on the hands yet so please ignore those and his polygon shorts. I really want to get better and learn how to do realism...
serriffe what are you making the level in cryengine? looks fantastic? are you using linear gamma workflow somehow?
Hey Ged, thanks-- yup I am using gamma correction ( auto ) on renderer and using advance camera exposure in Mental Ray. Yes- I will eventually export it on both engines Unreal or Cryengine- for now, I'm just building up assets for it as much as I can.
Thought id throw up something in here since i havent before!
Just started working on this sculpt of Fionna from adventure time, but i want to really flesh her out, make and add more details but retain the curvy body and facial features etc!

Yeah, right. You missed a lot of what makes polycount the best 3D forum, i mean, look at that freaking thread :
Sometime, its just good to have a good laugh. Doesn't mean the art deserved it, LeRenard piece is not bad, and it would really be great if she had real feedback (Which i gave her, btw, just not here).
But man, you can't say this shit ain't funny ! That hulk, i laughed hard :
I get where you're coming from, but I personally think this is the wrong thread for that sort of thing. Leave it to private messages, or a thread asking for critique. I think poking fun at pics here just leads to public trolling; not good criticism.

A fair few peeps have inquired about my workflows for this piece, So I thought I'd create a bunch of Tutorials together in this thread:
Mask_Salesman's 'Last of Us' Inspired Sumd00d & Tuts!
