ok, I thought that was actually the movie for a minute, so good job....
I will say that once I noticed the difference, it really just looks like their lighting is cooler than yours, and maybe a hair more scattered. You're pretty close, and I think matching the light temperature would go a long way to helping identify the remaining issues, what few there are.
That's even assuming you're not just calling it done. I think you're WELL within your rights to do so! Great work!
Here's a tribute to Princess Mononoke... that film was a big inspiration to me and definitely contributed to the inspiration pool which lead me to become an artist.
This is so beautiful. I love it. I love this movie too.
I just added a new gallery to my online portfolio, this time it is the female version of the customizable character for the incoming project from Qigames.
Hand painted texture practice
[edit] I did use a crack stamp brush in some places for some of the finer details... Not sure if that's "cheating" for hand painted stuff. >.>
Acid_Wire: Nice work! can see this being really atmospheric when you're finished. Is that a massive cobweb between the beams? I like the way it looks like it's catching the light... a fly's nightmare! haha
Here's a new day/night piece for a world I'm creating
finally got round to remaking the top reciever, and ive got to say im quite impressed with it!
hopefully this is around the correct thickness, which i think it is.
i made sure to make it a lot thicker than the last effort anyway.
next step: fixing the irons sights at last.

nah man, the width is way wrong, the dust cover in particular is completely off and also a mega distinctive identifying feature of the AK. gotta get more reference

crap.
this is the refernce crash gave me earlier, http://puu.sh/3wk0I.png
im using that as a guide. cant seem to get it right though :poly118:
is it too wide or too thin? in viewport i think it looks too wide near the top, and the curve isnt quite right.
I was making this character for the adventurer contest but it looks like I ran out of time.
I really want to finish and polish it to put it in my portfolio. Not happy at all with the face colors and hair so I plan to spend a lot more time on these.
alexcatmastersupreme - awesome mech, very m.a.k feeling. nice work
here is an update to the vehicle I posted last week. I adjusted some of the proportions that you guys mentioned were off. sill not quite there in that sense, few things to squash.
Also a few more piece, the back stand thingy and a few antenna / radar / vent things for the top. Then to dent and scratch it, fun fun.
I don't know if its just me but the standard of work on here always seems to get better each time I look! Here is an update on what I'm working on. Started to bake out some of the sections for my environment. Thread can be found here http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=121955&highlight=sci-fi
Still WIP, some details needed on stock and receivers, barrel and trigger are still missing.
Also need to soften a bit edges on receivers and a lot on M203.
Grip is a placeholder at the moment, I'll make completely new
Thinking about creating my own thread now, since there's a lot to show now

I've been sculpting away in Sculptris every now and then. and today I turned my guy into a girl.
I think I'll still need to do a fair amount of polishing before taking this to the Retopo step =/, Im not confident at all about those backsides.
