gaah-- man the last pages have been really awesome to look at Morning folks, just finished the final block for the 3rd and last section of this project. just finished my first pass also on the overpass from the back section. now comes the fun part-- more detail and texturing! =]
Here's a DMM Rebel Ice Pick I've modeled as a Left 4 Dead 2 custom melee weapon. It's also the same ice pick used by Lara in the latest Tomb Raider reboot game.
I've been lurking for a while now, but especially since this summer started as I'm interning with a company that has me programming far more than I'd like to be. Anyway, here's my first attempt at sculpting and poly-painting in Zbrush. This thread has so much awesome work in it and thanks for all the inspiration to get off my butt and start making art again!
Had a bit of time to block the rest of the body in. Still working in Dynamesh, which is lovely for trying ideas out as you sculpt. Once the major proportions and shapes are defined it'll be re-topology and working in the details
What does his expression tell you?
His expression? It's like "So... you gonna stop following me around? Or at least stop staring dang..."
Anyway I love how you captured the moment. So you took a photo of him and studied it? Or just... well followed him around? Cause that is one detailed study man I love people who really work on progress!
you have some serious issues with a consistent texture resolution
also, the motorcycle looks a little bit too weathered, maybe tone down the normal a bit und up the texture size, so it fits the wall & ground

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, on the texture resolution, I'd assume you're talking mainly about those windows and doors, as that's certainly what I'd first criticize about those images. I definitely botched the handling of the texture resolution there and I'm planning on redoing the set. As for the motorcycle, I'll probably reduce the normal map a lot (it turned out being a lot harsher in UDK than I expected) but note that the idea is that it's been sitting around collecting moss and rusting in the rain for 30-40 years so it would be pretty far gone.

EDIT: ah beaten to it

Hey thanks man! yeah, kinda leaving the lighting at the end- cause I love doing it so much
that I tend to loose track of time haha
Great work on here as always.
Here's something I whipped up in a couple hours yesterday with the Nickz_humanMale base mesh in zbrush.
Looking forward into getting in there and really pushing the expressions of pain and anger as well as all the nice stretchy skin tears!!
I honestly think its the forearms. They look gigantic for the body's proportions
And a motorcycle, with paint color variable using an alpha channel. First street level prop I've made for this scene.

The jacket is so well done (not only that), is it sculpted by hand or "Marvelous Designed"?
This is a set for a prototype/game I'm doing on UDK
Just finished doing the textures and setting everything up ^^
