WOW!!! Blown away by all the awesome work you guys are posting on here. I am finally ready to get some feedback on what I have been working on.
I am getting together an asset and Environment reel and my first piece is an old Voigtlander camera. Main things I am struggling with is getting the normals on the top section to look clean, and trying to nail that metal look.
Everything was modeled in Maya, texture maps were done in Photoshop, and I am rendering in Marmoset. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Leaving my comfort zone and going for something realistic. Not much atm but will become more interesting. Goal is to get better at lighting, texturing and material definition.
Here's a wip on a bust I'm doing of a sister of battle from warhammer 40k.
It's still in the very early stages right now, but crits are welcome. Also, if anyone has any solid tips on presentation techniques for busts, I would be super grateful!
looking good so far slosh. I'm thinking that the face is looking a little too old though. I'm thinking the wrinkles around the mouth may be a bit too prominent. I'm liking the direction though and I can tell who it is.
Bones! Skinning! Posing! So very rusty, so many problems. Partway I had to go back and fix the elbows 'cause I modeled them on backwards. And mirroring weights was a pain because everything symmetrical is actually misaligned by like 0.028 units... ahh, one way to learn from mistakes. ._.
High Res Bmx for a new character I've made.
Been a week, working between 1-12 hours a day on it, just whenever I have a free moment.
Still a bit of work to do like adding a bit of character to ect.
Right now I'm looking after after getting varied types of skin tones. Old models and old maps on the girl, new SSS combinations. Definitely need a lot of work.
Done a bit more work on this scene today. Here's some of my ramblings for moving forward with it...
+Create some clouds up top --> add some moving/roiling clouds!!! (Edge of thundercloud)
+Make some variation for the debris
+Movement in the field/make some crops?
+Create the wires between poles and have them swing a bit in the wind
-improve env art (tree models/ground textures/house/car models/horizon line)
BONUS POINTS:
+Have the tornado move across the terrain (from the road) such as : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNgH3Vgnas8
+Tear up the house!
+Show the tornado forming and or dissipating
+Raindrops on camera/fake car/storm chasers dashboard with storm map on a laptop? Overkill.
+Lightning?
Video made public now... I never noticed as I was always signed in! "MGE_PM" mentioned it was broken in the office!
Finished up my sculpt of Esmy from the action rpg Cryamore!
Here is a full interactive 360 spin here. Give it some time to load, pretty slow going down here. If it errors under load, refresh and you should make it in If not, sorry about that!!
Messed up quite a few things on this render, the skin and eye mats / specularity and balancing of materials etc is all over the place, live and learn. Ill try harder next time to get a better result.
She will be produced as a 10" desktop collectible figurine, I'm not sure how much she will cost outside the kickstarter or even if she will be available beyond the kickstarter at this point.
I finally got this hatch door panel textured in dDo and rendered in Marmoset. I'm starting to get the hang of dDo. It's even more powerful than I thought (and I was really impressed from the beginning).
Hi there! These are some sculpts I made as a part of my weekend homework(I'm learning 3D Art from one Polycounter in Spain). Tips and advices will be welcomed.
Hi there!
Long time lurker, first time poster here.
Been working on this troll loosely based on a Jordu Schell bust. Started out as a ZBrush sketch of the bust then decided to take it all the way and made the body.
Here is the Zbrush sculpt and a marmoset render

Looks alright, but it looks like work in progress. None of your edges are crisp and defined, they all look like you've just quickly blocked in the shapes and designs. And the design work is good, you've got a good start, but it need refinement.
Ysalex stop posting stuff or am gonna quit ma job hahaha
Also shit the bed! Mirror's Edge 2 sexarific, altho slightly less asian faith
I've started derping around with a self portrait in classic game character frown style !, learnt my lesson not using ref on that chick haha.
Super wip everything just ripped it out of Zbrush and into UDK, atm normals are just mass no pore level detail, mainly just sculpted forms and threw my face ref on.
Atm I'm trying to get the eyes right before I go back to the face, took a few shots with the light around tryna get the iris normal concave depth right aswell. SOMETHING isn't quite right tho, perhaps just the lack of lashes and that I'm crazy pale.... Any idea's about the eyes would help

hey man that's looking really nice. what's making the eyes look really weird right now is a couple of things:
1. no hemispheric shadow.
2. no eyelashes.
3. they look a little too open/intense.
fix up those things and you'll be amazed by the difference.
Set my self a new goal of getting to post my work on Creature Spot so here's a tribute to my favorite artist on creature spot Aris Kolokontes. This took an hour and a half (i have witnesses haha) and was from a sphere
Another sculpt of Aris Kolokontes work this one took about 4 hours i recorded a video of the sculpt but im an idiot and deleted it. I know that heaps of shit is off about it but it was good practice and i learnt some stuff haha but yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Here's the orginal (i was going off 3 different ref photos so its kind of a blend between them haha)
Azkur: Cool character, really like the proportions and shapes on him. His clothing is a bit confusing though, I'm not sure if he is modern or conan era. I'm sure that will become more clear once he is more blocked in.

I never really got around to learning ZBrush and when I was at school the one class that covered it was horrible, so here I am today, trying to learn how this thing works for the third time... Made this from a cube as I was following one of Eat3D's tuts on ZBrush.
It's not much but I'm happy with the results I get so far.
bit of a rendering/pose test for this dude. not really sure what he is doing, maybe he has seen a mouse and is a bit scared. need to finish up
the textures/hair/skinning
Fuckin' A, Delko. You're gonna add some parallax to the skyline right?
I'd like to eventually, but for now we're just working on getting the core game play elements programmed. And by "we" I mean VonZippenstein the programmer.
