Great job! I'd suggest you change the name on the graphic from Spy Kit to the name of your theme. It's possible that valve will choose more than one entry for Spy winner so having it use your theme's name would be better.
The razor is plain awesome! I was a bit sceptical about the gun at first but it turned out great. I'm not sure about the hat, it kinda looks like a crossing of the fedora and billycock.

I think when the majority of the community thinks the Eyelander Metal looks better than LOL WOOD METAL, it's better to send the one the community likes the best.
It's an unneccesary detail, and the majority of the community isn't going to understand whatever the hell "Damascus" is.
So it's better to go with the one that is easily recognizable as razorblade metal, rather than having a few people thinking the blade looks cool while the rest of the community thinks "what the hell is up with the stupid wood texture on this thing".
Wow.. I'm so glad you didn't make something for the Engy : ). All jokes aside, awesome concept and delivery - the little stories are a nice touch, and the hat in particular really sits well with the spy. Grats man, you're a sure winner.
oke, I have been trying to get the hat working in game, I already got it to appear within the game but it looks transparant, as if the normals are flipped somehow.
That's an issue with the QC or SMD exporter that flips all of the geometry. I know someone else had this problem and fixed it fairly easily but I forgot what the exact problem was.
lol, nevermind, got it working. I was editing the wrong vmt's :P so I still had 2 with a translucency option on.
here it is ingame, I tried getting the normal map working ($bumpmap) but it doesnt seem to work and the normal map also has a specular map in its alpha so that doesnt load either!
Take out $basemapalphaphongmask and your spec in the normal's alpha should work. I'm guessing that your normal map isn't working because it's in the wrong location. I don't see anything in the VMT that would make it not work.

Remember we went through this before? The engine AUTOMATICALLY looks for the phong mask in the normal map's alpha. You don't need to put a vmt command in. You can, but it won't do anything.

did this, it screwed up the shading entirely (note: within the model viewer), so it needs a bit of work but I am glad I got it working ingame. now I need to tweak it a little and send it to valve as a fix

I'm pretty certain that fixes are allowed, however I'm not certain what they think about fixes before your items have been chosen :O
Send it anyway though, I don't see how it could hurt your chances anymore than it could improve them.
