hmm, I was thinking about that, maybe mini crits per burn, or simply having the abillity to cause a long burn with a short burn type weapon like the flaregun.
#3 has a really sweet classic Warner feeling to it, (which, btw, is the best possible source of inspiration) what about adding the butt of #6 and the finger guard thing of #1?
I like #5, but the handle needs to mesh with the cannon better (i.e. 2 and 4). If the handle meshes with the cannon it makes it look as if the cannon is more powerful, as if it needs all that support to keep the cannon from flying off the handle.
Not sure if it would be cool, but the idea is that you have 2 barrels for grenades much like a break action double barrel shotgun, but then able to rotate vertically.
So it rotates horizontally, (top picture) you break it open, reload, close, pull the trigger and it rotates to a vertical position, fires the top barrel first, then rotates 180 degrees and empty's the second barrel, rotates back to its horizontal position and repeat*
B3 works well. It's big and shows the raw power of the weapon, and I can see how he will hold it.
I like the 4th one, but it looks like the Medi-Gun and looks awkward to fire. B2 is too small and there is no room for the cannon to launch.
I don't know about the swivel gun. I don't see the point.
Great work, this is a fantastic idea, keep working on it.
Yo dude, this is great! I really like the boomstick concept!
Have you thought about making the Haggis bomb a bagpipe instead? Because a haggis-bag might be hard to make recognizable, but a bagpipe wouldnt. It wouldnt be as funny though, not unless its starts making some random bagpipe sounds as a countdown timer :P
Also, the Scat'hach grenade sounds like the MIRV grenade from the old Team Fortress Classic, whioch was actually used by.... the demoman! (yeahhh Im old-school http://teamfortress.wikia.com/wiki/MIRV_Grenade)
Looking good so far! I really like the exaggerated and distinct silhouettes you made. B3 and B1 are my favourites so far.
Though, as a Scotsman, I must recommend to you a much more suitable name: 'Mons Meg'. It's a medieval supergun (read: one HUGE cannon) made and found in Edinburgh Castle, Scotland. It can only be fired a limited number of times a day because of the tremendous heat it creates. I think it was also the biggest cannon in the world at the time it was built.

you convinced me, perfect!
and thnx kite, your going to give this contest some love?
Can you explain the Caw Taughtie a bit more? It seems like a bad weapon the way I'm looking at it. It does less damage than other melee weapons, and It hurts the Demoman? Is there always an explosion?
I know were not there yet, so feel free to ignore me until you're done with the other items.
not sure yet on the caw thaughtie, I might give it a "chance" for an added explosion and up the base damage. I'll give it more thought when I get there thnx!
id say b3, b4 looks like something the heavy would use. are you saying your reload would work somewhat like the rocket launcher in halo? thats how i see it working
cant wait to see what you come up with for the other two
Gentlemen, I had a change of hearts. After thinking about the rules and regulations and thinking about what it takes to be included in the polycount pack, I have decided to change directions and focus more on design and looks then possible gameplay ideas. This is also the reason I have decided to go with the spy. A more simpler and refined class then the demoman, his tools of the trade make him very deadly, and thats what this contest is all about, the tools.
So here is my first weapon replacement for the knife
Not 100% satisfied with the handle, but the silhouette is as I am concerned where I want it to be, diffrent and elegant, a gentlemans tool.
wow, that razor sure looks sharp and deadlly
that tiny red blood triangle on the screw on the handle looks weird, but since there will be a hand covering it, it passes the test
Omg, love the new knife. But yea, handle does look a bit messy, but besides that perfect. Maybe you should update the first post with the fact you have a Spy kit now instead of a Demoman one? Like, cross out everything so people know that info is outdated.

plus it'd be just awesome.
but the cannon part of 1 ? just a mock up
just wanna see what'd look like
Would the grenade still break apart if it hits the opponent or is it only if it hits the wall/ground etc?

people, please ignore the green text in my previous post, you can try and decipher it, but brains might explode :P

Here is some more brainfarting
did a bit more rendering on this one, still grayscale trough
edit: and 2 barrel variations:
I think I like B3 the best though.

Anyway, looking forward to the rest!
A bagpipe filled with gunpowder, directing one of the pipes and pressing the bag wil make a nice bagpipe sound and blast out a spray of gunpowder.
while walking it pufs small plumes of black smoke with random bagpipe sounds!
thnx kwakkie

What's the new theme ?
The Barber of S-EVIL-le?
I don't quite understand, but I'm hoping your new models will make me understand better

I like the name of the Spy knife!
I changed the first post trough, I have gone for the theme: LEGACY. Stuff that has been handed from generation to generation of spy.
