I made a few random holes that lead to caves but there's this one chasm which amazed me. Some dude made like a crack in the ocean floor, deep down where it's almost pitch black and there are doorways that lead to a cave.
In the real world the water would flood these doors but this is Minecraft

i dont think there's an automated script rendering the maps since the rendering itself isn't too great for the server's performance. so far our nice neighborhood serveradmin rendered them
Looks like my pc needs a fresh install, it's been freezing and lagging in the game. My video card is pretty old - ATI X1950, but it should run this kind of game easily. I guess its time for an upgrade.
Tried the game and it looks fun, been digging in to the ground and creating little caves, but I get killed by those zombies and spiders. Have to google some beginners guide or something. Also logged into the server to see what you guys have done and it was pretty slow (again, due to my video card/pc). Can't wait to play properly!
Saw it on kotaku and it looks like a rip-off. Not sure about the textures though but some sure do seem familiar(Eld? Doku-RPG?).
I dunno, notch sent a mixed message to his twitter saying he don't mind it being a exact clone as long as the dude doesn't claim to be a part of minecraft/mojang.
It's quite obvious when the name is being used, and even when not the name is being used, when character and monster models, even though simple, are being exactly the same.
Other than that, the idea cannot be stolen since nobody owns it.
I just wish that, if someone wanted to copy minecraft, why don't they improve on it?, hell, models are the first thing I'd change since there is not technical reason to have boxes for models like there is for the terrain.
Eld your texturepack is so lovely. I've built such a nice house, and together with the ambient occlusion mod I'm addicted again. (screens when I get home from work)
It looks great, but I can't manage getting it to work with the updated "load custum texture packs" thingie that's built in... So getting it to work still needs to be done in the old way? (=replace files)
right now it asks to select the folder, which i do, but when I double click it, it just opens the folder as if it's the file browser.

Having a good time reading up on the geology on Mars. Interesting stuff. Replacing Iron Ore with Hematite. Stuff looks sweet.

It looks like editing the color ramps for the terrain and grass is not read in, so it's going to be iffy.
as far as I know anything related to custom biome stuff in packs are broken, and even with them the colouring is broken, I would rather that the new biome stuff would've been tile variations rather than tile-coloration.

I set fire to a thing a while back by accident but fessed up and replaced all trees, this was before I knew about the duplicating bug and must've spent three hours putting out the fires, axing the burning blocks and hacking at trees in the wilderness to get 50 saplings argh.
Hope someone sees who it is and hits them with the banhammer.
It's probably the same dude who nicked the diamond from my 6 and replaced it with cobblestone and dirt, as if I wouldn't notice the difference lol.

Worst thing for me right now is the lag / blocks reappearing problem.
Its real annoying if you are trying to clear a large space out.

Why is the Polycount MC server more offline than online, now? Seems the restarts are knocking it out for more than half a day at a time
