finally i'm getting closer to the workflow of zbrush and i start liking some parts and start hating other parts more and more, there are some things that will never get into my head ^^
however here is my first zbrush only sculpt, done with zspheres and retopo... retopo took as long as the sculpting part, silo, polyboost and topogun are defintely better but i have the ability in one tool that can handle a big polycount, which is great
Nice sculpt Sekneox. I agree about the retop tool, was struggling with it last night, but the more I use it the faster it gets. It's definitely the most buggy part of Z3, but once you figure out whats causing it to freak out it's pretty nice.
well can you delete an edge without deleting a connecting point? that took me a lot of time and also sometimes the retopospheres are getting locked, i just cant move them, only if i delete them and create new ones
SEKNeox: I haven't found a way to delete edges without deleting points, but the point locking thing is probably because you're accidently masking them off, do the unmask all thing and you should be able to move them again.

Have you ever read "The Last Continent" by Terry Pratchet? your sculpt has just made me instantly think of the magical kangaroo "crappy" haha i love it
I dedicate my first sculpture ever to this thread!
just tried out mudbox today, tested some tools and then under the hour sculptured this.
started from the cube
So are we modeling all of these heads out of a cube? Ill have to give it a try.
Nice work by the way Jaco, I havent tried ZB3 but sounds and looks awesome.
SEKNeox, your such a cheater!:P Hahah, jk..just jealous that you can get those damn bubbles to work for you, as mine looks like a ball with the measels:( All of you guys are making me feel guilty, I so need to get sculpting again.
this is just fun doodling, workin from reference takes time, had only a a small image of one of the trafalgar lions when i did the zsphere model and roughed out some forms and then went on on my own because working from just takes time and is more a thing of patience then fun...
and airborn is also something that needs time nothing that should be rushed, i just needed a break for an hour...
Neox-> panteted portuguese secret... hm not really, i just create the main sphere shape on a low subdivision with a high intensity brush and then sculp detail over it, like everything else i think but with spheres looks better anyway, only doing it this way when starting from a box.
Neox even tho the eyes and nose are not really like this, it still a nice Lion! good job!
and a rework of the previous alien, playing with alphas..
I'm amazed by the speed of ZB3... I'm working on a mac mini (macintel) and this is really smooth.. (actually the interface is slow as hell, but the deformations are super fast..)

@tulkamier: 10 minutes till i had this out of zspheres http://polyphobia.de/public/pictures/3d/speedies/sculpts/zspeedie02_spheres.jpg then an hour of retopo (damn those tools could be way easier) and then another 45 minutes to an hour for sculpting on the new topo
@venain: i'll try that
Nice sculpts!

sekneox, nice! I really need to learn how to use those balls..
