DANG JOSH! That looks fucking sweet. I've been meaning to head over to CGChat to sus out the entries for that comp. But that one turned out awesome. I like the choice of name for your mobster too
coming along nicely SEKNeox . i am currently doing exactly the same piece and am struggling a bit. The arm is so damn complex.
Nice first sculpt Bobo, totally recognisable as your style
Well, If Im gonna be a dick and say some shit like "Try Harder" I should take my own advice. Here you go Neoshroomish some guilt art just for you.
Can anyone guess who it's supposed to be?
You are correct sir! I still need to make some hair for him though.
Here's a bit of saturday morning zed brushing it's a bit wonky in places. I think I might just do all hard edge modeling in max, less of a headache.
I used Arsh's base head and Davidson3d's spiffy shader
anyways yeah deadpool:
Hey'll yes deadpool!
Slapped some hair on saint of killers, could be better I know. Maybe I'll revisit someother time.
and another sculpt just messing with the lazymouse function and layers and alphas:
I'll just post this here because I don't feel like making a new thread. Sorry for all the Fan art lately, but I want to create art and my imagination is fried from work,
so fan art is the answer for me.
Thanks for the comments guys.
Here's another I got going, it's morpheus, the Sandman.
Buddy the designer, thats coming along nice.
love that too SEKNeox . The basic structures of the face are looking spot on I did recogise him, but could n't put face to name.
Josh_Singh - loved the guy in the cowboy hat out of the ones you posted

shagspear: if you think of the ears as growing out the rear-facing side of the jaw, they won't look as tacked on. See bobo and suprore's models

Erm, say again? I don't quite get what you mean...
You guys inspired me to actually sit down with it for something more than the usual "getting acquainted" doodle. First real attempt to do anything with it.
Obviously didn't get to finish, but needed some sleep. ~45 minutes. Just got finished playing Arcanum and attempted to capture the Half-Ogres.
hm i think you could improve the major forms to quite a bit, i especially don't like the eyes, they are quite far apart which does make him look ugly (damn my english, hope you understood it)
I'm also not a fan af those rakes a detail filter to hide the low level details, the most important thing on a model is the major form, not the details, they are just eyecandy and in your case they don't support the form it doesn't even look as if this head was sculpted with rakes, it looks more like a head with a bumpmap that is there to make it appear as if it's sculpted with rakes
ok here's the next step for my course, it may not be the best topology but well had to be quick to start unwrapping and baking asap so i'm at least a little prepared for tomorrow, the rest will be improvised...
Both of these took about an hour to do from a base sculpt of my face. Demon guy I just wanted to test out different tools. Guy on the right was inspired by "Shadow over Innsmouth" he's got gills but they dont show much from this angle.

A little over 2 hours ><
Planning something special in that blank spot on the back of the head when I get to the normals.

- BoBo
@Bobo: Pimp something :P
(not sure about the shirtless look, he may be a bit better off with an incredibly classy suit.)
(arsh's awesome base, course, almost forgot)
anyone recognizes him without looking on the filename? damn likeness is so hard for me, need more practice

Awesome sculpt BTW
Cool, you really catched his characteristic angry thinking look.
Maybe he needs a bigger Mastermindhead!
@ okkun
Nice detailed, only the ear looks very strange.

Your killing it Josh....nice.

I'm hooked now.
No references, just from a sphere.
Next time i'll use references to make a better head.
It's hard to tell who is using Zbrush or Mudbox now execpt those that use the ZB3 red shader.
Obviously didn't get to finish, but needed some sleep. ~45 minutes. Just got finished playing Arcanum and attempted to capture the Half-Ogres.
Here are two, both from cubes. Trying to learn the tools and workflow. Neither of them took an hour, but whatevar!
texture was a bit more.. but the sculpt was a couple hours max. maya viewport w/ normal map.
Amazing work josh, i'm a big fan.

a bit of garden work (raking specifically:) with a few shader tests

testing out the ZB point release beta, i love it..
1 hr 15 min, from my bustbase... hair extracted from head.
From a concept (my concept)
