posting this here as well (<- haha). Very close to calling this done. Lantern still needs a texture and might add some effects of some sorts to explain the blue glow from the inside. Looking for some feedback before wrapping this up.
I made a game in the new Unreal Engine for the 7DFPS game jam, it is called Shootmephrenia and in it you have to shoot no one but yourself! It is obviously not as easy as it sounds. You have to reflect your bullet on panels so that it comes back to you and then you have to catch it.
Here is a gif that shows also new the picture in picture views I added today.
I only wanted to fix a exploit but then I added that and it turned out really cool.
I learned a lot while making it, especially lots of Blueprint stuff which can be really tricky but also allows it to quickly prototype. I bumped into lots of problems along the way, especially with the ragdoll physics but maybe that is also just a bit buggy in the engine currently. Maybe I will put up a thread. I used quite a lot shortcuts on the art side of things to get it all done in just 7 days.
Hey guys, been lurking a while on these forums for a while in constant awe at the talent people have. Anyway, been trying to figure out how to get decent renders for a portfolio as I'm still fairly new to all this stuff.
Hey @Tan your images are all coming out a little blurry and slightly washed out, like perhaps the levels aren't quite right so they have lost contrast. Just thought Id let you know, good luck with the portfolio update!
@ Ged : Yeah and I have some kind of problem with the resolution. Thanks for the warning mate. But hey ! Click my portfolio ! I am also uploading there and it seems a bit better.
@ Snefer: I love this derpiness keep it on mate !
Aaand DONE 1 Alice was the last one. Could get better resimages at some even.
My eyes hurt and I need to study aquistics tomorrow morning. But I am a happy man
Turntable and cute animation. Hora hora ! Watch it !
Concept for the background and different color schemes. Triadic, analogous and different versions of contrasting. Tried to keep a same type of mood going. As for the concept, I tried birds and chains but It came out noisy.
@Teksin: Mate, all of your shots that have that grey background are incredibly low contrast and washed out. Doesn't do your models justice at all. What's you're lighting set up for those? Is that grey being used as your Image Based Lighting content? I don't know much about Cryengine, but you need to fix that.
Additionally, you might want to have your wireframe shots non-triangulated. It just looks like triangle soup right now and honestly I can't tell what's going on. Displaying in Polys is the way to go!
Pretty close to the finish line on this one. Hopefully one more weekend of work on this will wrap it up. Despite wanting to do much MUCH more, sometimes you just gotta move on.
With that said, I really enjoy the progress I've made and all the cool things I've learned about UE4 and Substance

Hey everyone! We just submitted a Dota 2 set for Mirana in collaboration with the professional team Fnatic! Click the image to go check it out on the Steam Workshop!
There are some extra images of the progress on our thread right here over at the Dota 2 forum if anyone is interested.
Just a monitor. I was thinking of giving the screen two planes to work with, but I suppose it'd be smarter to draw up an intermediate UI that would feed out instead of faking it with textures.

Damn it ! I knew I had to change the background color !
Sorry mate it is my mistake. Not about the lighting setup believe me. It is my idotness for using a grey background with low-blue skinned character :P
Will provide non triangulated shots next time !. Thanks mate.

Very nice. Well done. Love the detail to texture and lighting reflections.

RavenHeart Thanks! Looks like you got some cool stuff of your own baking in the oven! If you have a portfolio site or blog you should throw it in your sig so I can take a look at your other work! Or, if you need some detailed feedback on what you got going on now, feel free to create a thread so the community can give you feedback at length! Looks like its a good start though, keep up the awesome work!
@TAN: your images look very washed out. Like someone added a semitransparent white layer on top of your image. Maybe your monitor calibration makes it look fine on your end?

Nice! I love the chunkiness. I feel the fingers could be a bit thicker and the feet bigger though. Can't wait to see more.

Nice, it looks like the reversed bullpup construction I'd love to see it with a door breacher
