This stuff is all wonderful, this thread has been great this year and it's only Jan!
I did some more work on this fellow, want to create a few accessories next like a back pack...
I guess you can call this fan art? I was tasked at creating a New York Roof top level for uni with a four week deadline. I had been reliving childhood nostalgia watching the great 80's classic '*Batteries Not Included a film about a down and out apartment community faced at having their beloved home destroyed by the greedy corporations who are saved by little ufo aliens.
Great material, and a great inspiration for my roof top set. I tried my best to get the 'staged' feel to my environment, as in the film, it feels more like watching a play at the theatre, so I approached the project as more of a set designer.
I ran into a lot of issues during the project as It is my first time using Cryengine and I have only very little experience in UDK. As daft as it may seem I had also never used or created tileable textures for anything before either so the whole project was a challenge. Any way enough waffle, here are some screens of it so far. There are still a few assets I'd like to get in but I could do with a huge debug and if anyone could, I really would like some advice on reducing my draw calls and tri count.
Been meaning to do something a bit more normal for a while now, so this is where I'm at so far
Still need to add more pockets, creases in the jacket. At the moment the jacket looks too solid so hopefully folds/creases shall pull it off along with seams and stuff. Oh and the jeans need some love!
Jaco- Thanks mate! Awfully Big of you! I could tell the likeness from a Green Mile away, even if it were partially obscured by a Forrest! You are truly In a League of Your Own, doing That Thing You Do...
..ok I'll shut up now, before I start feeling like a CastAway....
Jaco: I recognised Tom hanks straight away, especially the three quarters view makes me think of him in the green mile age wise. Are you going to do more on him I.e full figure bust?
Thanks for the comments Qiwi man and Chunkey, was aiming for Green Mile Tom so glad it's recognizable Don't think I'll spend more time on him, planning on doing at least one more bust from the film so no time for polish.
I've been knocked out with some crazy fever since posting back on page 10, so only just getting a chance to read all the awesome replies - really wasn't expecting that! Cheers!
Hope I didn't miss anyone, - some of my all-time heroes in there - but pretty hepped up on painkillers and powerade, so might be typing gibberish for all I know :poly128:
Nothing but amazing work on this page too! Great work, all!

@mospheric, love it, is it for a L4D map?
Retextured all of the assets and changed the lighting a bit.

Kurt Russell Fan Club - thanks for the feedback. I'll be doing quite a bit of proportion tweaking this weekend.
I´m happy to hear that. Thanks man
p3d.in is a slick model viewer, that's pretty awesome.
Some likeness practice:

Gir!
Something I've been working on between projects. Crits are welcome
Hazardous: Sexy as usual, are you going for a different look from the concept?
might want to up the bevel a bit, even the trinitron flat screens, which were the best you could get, had a massive bevel. like this:
Ah the bad old days, lugging these to LAN parties was no fun at all!
<- self taught coder. No time like the present bro, wish I started many years before
I took a sketch project from last night a bit further
Here's some Supes progress, still a long road ahead.
