i like the design, you could save some polys by merging in the right vertex those quads that really dont anna nything to the model, and maybe use it on chamfering on other parts ?
Wow, hot stuff thomasp. I'd probably be tempted to model her in a less static base pose, but i guess it depends on the rig and how you like to work.
Nice detail.
One crit - unless she's just wearing body paint, her butt should not look like that...
@thomasp: [ut2k4]HOLY SHIIIIIT[/ut2k4] that is hawt, i agree with the thumb being a tab bit short, possible some of the fingers too. Other than that it looks great, you might needs to change the butt "slighty". I wouldn't mind if you left it as is.
Wires maybe? Always neat to see how dense high poly stuff like that looks did you use any zbrush?
Is this for anything? Practice? I would so use it as a game model *wink wink*
thanks people, much appreciated! that is going to be the hipoly source for a normalmap job. still hardly any z-brushing done so far. i just figured i'd need a nice butt somewhere in my portfolio and came up with this.
ferg: you can change the brush profile in Z. can do wonders to the looks.
had some fun too, but will add knee- and elbowcaps later. i'm off to constructing a lowpoly model. might change finger length and similar stuff after baking the textures.
Here is some more work I'm adding to my reel. I'm planning on normal mapping this soon. There are a few things on the mesh I have to fix. I might just end up remodeling it again since it doesn't take me long to do. It has 1348 tris.
Er - WHY did you hand paint the entire thing? It looks like you're trying for something realistic, yet it looks cartoony. If its meant to be of a cartoon look it doesn't look the part at all. It's in a weird middle ground that isn't very happy
How long did this take you? If you're going for something more realistic looking I suggest you save yourself a lot of time and source your base materials (to start) then go from there.
warby: Her head is throwing me off from the rest of the character. She looks like a soccermom wrapped up in ninja gear. IMO it'd be more fitting for the character if she were Asian looking; dark dark hair and deeper complexion.
budda textures, there is normal, spec, color. sorry cant show wires or flats at the moment. the final low poly model is right around 10,000, its about 20 feet tall in game.

Why do ninjas -have- to be asian? Especially future ninjas... Let's be progressive.
On another note: She looks fantastic. Are you going to keep it fairly clean texture wise (ala Team Ninja)? It'd be cool to see this textured all battle torn.
Arsh: Nice buddha! I really like that the cloth is relief and not fully modelled out. Makes it look like a real statue.

I actually wanted it to be somewhere between realistic and cartoony and dark at the same time. Im just playing around a bit with style and hand painting everything just for practice. This door isnt for a bigger project or anything. Its just for fun and practice.

I used it as an example - my point was that every time I look at this (great) model, all I can see is typical soccer mom wrapped in ninja gear. That's all. Progressive is fine so long as it works.
I really like this model - here's hoping for a detail pass on the textures.
