working on making a new generic female jedi for the jka community, gonna be doing various hair/clothing styles.
for now, could any of you help me with the head and anything you think i should change? (theres a full mouth in there btw, including teeth/tongue etc.)
blankslatejoe: that is a very nice concept. might consider giving her helmet some kind of wing mounted on top, rocket-ranger style. which btw. is a character i always wanted to do myself
the shading on her butt seems incorrect to me.
as for my own crap, i think i'm done - for the time being anyway, the rig and skinning is nothing short of a total hack right now.
this is btw. for the animazoo competition. anyone else participating in there?
It really is beautiful work thomasp. Something off about her eyes has been nagging at me ever since I first saw her though. I just cant pinpoint what it is. Something to do with the outer corners perhaps, but it's hard to tell from so far away. Maybe the eyewhites are a tad too white too? Great stuff overall though!

It really does look nice Thomasp, but I think the thing about the eyes is there is no bags or depressions under them. The check bone ledge just starts immediately under the eye. Still a very impressive piece, top notch.
alittle late to the party, but im doing the challenge 25 redesign of mrs peacock, i will make a thread for it soon with concepts and all hes a screengrab
Decided to test out 3ds max...and I'm trying to get back into the flow of modeling...school has kept me busy.
She's not showing much weight..I'm working on it though.
@Slaught: The Maxx! My far my favourite cartoon of all time. I hope you do him justice! You should do a field of Izzes and have The Maxx ripping through them.
@thomasp: very good work. I've been impressed with this piece since you first started showing your WIP. I'm glad you're finished and glad it turned out so well.
Hey cheybea! Nice to see you posting some work I'm still learning meshflow myself atm but as far as I can tell it's looking really good. I especially like the way you've accentuated her cheekbones, but imo she could use a little more fleshiness and width to her face. I can't wait to see her finished!
Had an hour free today felt like modelling a random head for zbrush, not done any asymetrical stuff yet tho. I dunno wtf this is, it was in my head lol.
Hey almighty_gir, it's been a while, nice to see you're still around.
Nice flow cheybea, try to smooth the mouth corners. The nasolabial fold should flow all the way up to the nostrils, not end on the corners. Some tweaking on the ear and should be a great head.
More on my warhammer 40,000 Bolter Rifle prop. After a silver base coat and a black top coat, here's where it's at. I'm going to sandpaper off the black, leaving it dull and in some areas letting the silver through. There will also be a lot of weathering and other colours, like the brass shells in the mag. I'll accentuate the winged skull with another colour too.
Thanks Lord Scottish!.
Moz - Yeah, that's the biggest grip I could find (from a spas 12 shotgun replica) and has the biggest trigger guard too - for those big power-armoured gloves. It sits big in your hand, but the rest of the thing is so freaking huge...If I had more space/time I'd make a wooden grip from scratch.
Been working on this in Max of late. Will probably get it into z brush or just hand paint the bump map and use the nvidia plugin to get the additional normal map.
Quick dirty normal map test. Trying to see how much I could leave out of the low poly mesh
Started a low poly character. He will be furry, he will have goggles. He will probably have a large wrench to turn nuts and defend himself. At 700, trying to keep it around 1k. b1ll is inspirational, he gives me strength to resist normal maps.
Vassago: Yes but I posted an older version in this thread here and it was a different link.
If you turn on "catch global AI exceptions" in the options you'll get an "unhandled Global AI exception" message when that crash happens. AF told me to leave that off since the AI supposedly catches them already but I think it's called an unhandled exception because the AI didn't.

I'll take a look at the joints when I optimize him (probably sometime tonight). Feet definitely need some attention too.
HEre's something I've been working on for the current cgchat comp --still have a bit of a ways to go.
FAB texturing
slaught that looks interesting

blankslatejoe: great character. I dig all the wing parts. What about propulsion. Is that in the boots?
But i think theres something wrong with the way the chin connects to the neck. That and the head looks a bit misplaced...
Excuse the crappy pic edit but i guess you´ll know what i mean. :P
@blateslankjoe
Thx...I´m going to make a thread for him as soon as i have a bit more done.
I love the texturing on this girl.
Great colors!
Legs look a tad too long but that´s already been pointed out. :]
First time trying to texture a female face. Eyebrows shouldn't be final.

edit:i think the hair-line could be a little more convincing. minor crit though
@dur
Ask and you shall receive
Not sure about the arms yet...maybe i´ll redo them with a real reference.

fixed now, for the (hopefully) second round of judgement.
thanks!

Slow and poor quality. Body should get uvmapped/started tomorrow.
-DK =^..^=
Tomas too.
I think Tomas's ninja woman was checking me out. Its understandable Im too damn good lookin.

Are you going to dirty up the blade a bit then? would be nice to see a few nicks and cuts out of that.
For a TA_Spring mod. I just did the texturing.

Vassago: That looks damn cool and like a nightmare to script.

Hehe
Thanks. We have a script guru who's pretty damn swanky, though. Just glad I don't have to do it
Btw, your mod is damn fun
Crashed unexpectedly on me once, though.
finally settled on a design for my sumea comp entry, now im off to a slow start
And yeah, I was playing against the AI, using the latest NTai.

I'm digging your little dude prototype, only thing wierd is how thick the pinky of the hand is, yet the index finger is kind of thin.
Nice zbrushing jaco, love the lips and mouth definition.
Aniceto, that's looking awesome, and to get that subtle of detail in zbrush, crazy!
