Thanks Poop. I went with the mits to cut polys, so I'm planning on painting two fingers on the widened geometry. If it looks bootylicious I'll change it!
Just laid out the UVs and started in. He's 990 polys and a 512 map.
Looking nice in the texture Proto. I'm liking what you're doing with the texture, but it could stand to have a lot more color variation, the white bits are looking a little dead at the moment.
Ancieto, Fantastic job, im curious to know how the head turns out.
Ruz, great normal maping and the head propotions are really well.
Graves, nice porpotions to and nice character full of "charisma "
Roster great photosource, the texture looks perfect
sun parameters for our level editor. the shadowbaker also does ambi occlusion and has lots of parameters to tweak, screenshots are taken with no value tweaking, that will come once the level is more finalized.
texture sampling on the shadow ray caster. (for the lightmap generator)
stencil shadows. although we will use the precalculated shadowmaps, more efficient for our older target hardware.
I've been working on a few textures I had floating around in my head today. They're geared towards use in a space craft/station. Right now I have 4 completed. I figured I'd post them in here, get some feedback perhaps. The image is a bit large (1024x256). All 4 are setup side by side: And here they are.
:]
i am sorry .. i updated the file a few minutes after posting it .. i toned down the contrast because i thought it was horrid .. i think it's a little btter now .. i agree about adding some complementary hues to the shadows
i do hope the likeness is good, i've stared at it for so long it's becoming difficult to tell ..
Jaco, the wrinkles look sex. i think the skin looks a little too hot colorwise. imho, the magic is in the greys.
Bradfordart, bodacious style dude. i dig on his whacky armor.
graves, looks good. shoulder pad is buggin me a bit. its repetition seems to obvious, i'd make the copied plates run into a larger peice that is arranged in a way that makes it feel more firmly attatched to his arm.
Fuse, it's coming along. i'ould push the contrast a bit. i tend to paint in small dots where the darkest features of the face would be, like the nostrils, corners of the mouth, eye folds etc. and blend them in, and start from there.
great great prizes... thou 90% of the world can't enter lol (read the rules before looking to the prizes, that way you avoid some disapointment.......)
