@Tvidotto@Brontothunder
Outside of the dota 2 workshop, do you do mods, or free games, or free medias?
i work on an indie game here in brazil, and on the begging of the workshop i was still working with traditional modeling (or sculpture to appear more artistic =])
about your question over freelancer offer the answer is yes, im getting some but most of them on dota related stuff
got some job offers too but im lacking experience for them =]
I've been wanting to turn this into a taunt for so long. I'm going to have a field day! If anyone has any taunt suggestions let me know. That is all I'll be working on from here on out! So happy about these additions!
Guys . I have a problem .. the 3 new heroes that were added in the last patch dont have any .smd files.
I can only see some .dmx . fbx and .maya
I used the .fbx (wich I ussualy dont couse most likely it wont look right ingame) , and indeed it doesnt except for the weapon , most items arent visible at all
(I reset all the scale/pos etc)
Any idea how to import .dmx into 3dsmax? or if there are any workaround?

Finally gotten myself some time to continue onward with the idea I had and now it looks like this~
I'm sort of still trying to figure out what to do with the head as well as arms. The skull on the headgear doesn't seem to be the way to go as it is, not sure if I should do something similar to it or find something else to ornate the head with (or perhaps less is more there?). Also fiddling with colors a bit, I think like earlier sets he'll be having some runes on his clothing as well in the end.
Hi, need to post to get confirmed so i'll start off with an introduction!
been watching blender tutorials and learning how everything works. probably somewhere in between noob and moderate right now.
have a work in progress however i was wondering if someone post their work to this site what prevents someone else from stealing their idea?
so if i post my work, and someone else takes the idea and submits it , would i just send steam a screen shot or link of what i posted?
model has been scrapped due to terrible rigging conditions
and just a general dislike of the design
I'm working on a Medusa set... care to share your "terrible rigging conditions"?
Something about the model itself, or with your additions specifically?

I've been posting work on these forums for about eight months now, I have never see a single person ever steal someones work. It never happens, don`t worry about it. Besides we're all friends here.

deciding on consistent colours or even texture design is just generally difficult
My main problem with the rigging was the around the skirt (which was probably just a problem with the wireframe) and the shoulder pads which would clip with the shawl and arms.
Anyway I've started on something a bit simpler
Hey guys, been awhile (been busy with other things), was hoping I could get a second opinion about if the coloration on my armor piece is too light. Personally, I think it might be (as this is without normals yet), but it follows with his original coloration mapping.

The part of your armor that's supposed to be the darkest is actually way brighter than the wings base. The runes are smudgy, you may want to trade them for bigger, sherper runes, or remove them completely. And the window in the back is lowpoly for the rest of the armor. Of, and there's a window between the wings and your armor.

Thought as much, so my responses:
I'm guessing you're referring to the back-arch runes and the tail runes. I could make the tail ones thinner (less smudge), but could I do varying levels of effect on the back arch to make it look a little better? (as in, is the design itself bad, or just the lack of variation?)
Window between wings exists because I have yet to think of a way that works for both the original wings and my new ones. I left it open because that was the easiest way that worked for both.
I'll give it a little touch up and have normals done by next time. Thank you.
Thumbs'ed up But you really gotta make your preview icons a bit more appealing! People on the Workshop have very, VERY short attention spans so if it doesn't stand out immediately, it wont get seen ^^
That is an awesome looking set, but I'm with Spud, those preview images won't be pulling people in. I look very forward to seeing that in game next week!
Needs a border and a few overlays on the backgrounds of the image to warrant success for the item..The set looks really good but you should address it, stat!
Mocked up a very quick and dirty example of what type of a difference a border can make in a workshop..As the other guys said, your item can gets lost if it doesn't pop.
Great set and grats on the finish.. That background image you have in your presentation picture is familiar? Where did you get it? remember not to use other peoples work in your art, even for presentation stuff.

The rocks and the castle are pretty similar to this image. @mihalceanu: Unless this illustration is yours, I'd recommend to change it asap.
I think it's been edited enough to warrant its use. I don't see a problem here.
I don't think there is such a thing as "edited enough" in this case. Someone made this illustration and Im assuming he/she didn't give the permission to be edited.
I'd be pretty upset if someone used and edited my arts without my consent.
Also, if you use mihalceanu art to search for similar images in google, the second result is the original illustration, so clearly it isn't "edited enough".
Agreed, if not for the picture, it would take a while to make it, even if only the edited part.
So either it is a picture of your making/you have permission to use it or you shouldn't use it at all, because benefiting from other people's works without even giving them credit is wrong, period.
Anyway, the set looks awesome, you don't need to resort to that for it to stand out.
Also, it would be great to see the thumbnails match the item's quality.

You could try decompiling the .smd from the game files
You can see some of my stuff in my workshop thread (animation stuff down the bottom)

I would recommend you to search new inspiration for clothing.

Watch. Study. Learn.
texturing armour is harder than I thought
can't get any good ideas
Here is my texture for clinkz:
Hot! We need more Darksiders influenced gear in the shop! Thumbs up from me!
Dayum! Nice looking set!:poly142:
Also, great work on this one, Kraken. Not much a fan of the skull face in the quiver, though.
