Looks like Chaos Knight and Bristleback was added to the importer without any mention in the patch notes. They also dont have a workshop page yet.
Speaking of additions to the importer, did anyone notice during testing their Phantom Assassin submissions last month that she has a;

Under her possible animations list? Possibly a CTF style mode in the works? I have seen a few other characters with the capture animation but from memory she is the only one that had a slight animation, the others were just the idle animation.

Capture is the name of the portrait pose, some heros require a toned down idle animation as it would be a bit hectic in the small frame.
I must say that discussion about couriers don't have any reasonable solution.
There is a place in store that you can buy couriers directly, so Valve could acknowledge that if someone want courier he will buy it directly.
On the other hand having possibility to get courier out from a chest is probably really motivating for some players.
Personally I would buy courier directly. Thing about reverse situation. If Valve bundled your courier with some king of chance to get 1 of 10 items, would you agree to share your revenue with item creators?
Ass for the NaVi set... i don't feel it right. It doesn't have anything to do with Na'Vi, they should chose another hero so at least it would be yellow set Plus ingame screens would't hurt.
Konras, you are forgetting about why Helenek said about the couriers on the chests, they are not normal ones, they are unusual and can ONLY be dropped from chests.
that motivates some guys to open chests, im on that group, i just open chests trying to get an unusual prismatic drake =]
so basically im giving money to guy that made the items on chest which is correct but im not giving any money to the guys that made those couriers
but of course, valve can do whatever they want with the courier and the unusual effects we dont have any rights over it
my idea on the wyrmeleon courier of getting unusual based on the game views came from that idea, people love unusual couriers

I thought that its exactly the same courier that can be bought directly. If that so buying courier directly should have also chance that courier could be unusual but higher % than chest. Or you could get unusual version of weapon with courier, so win-win situation.

While I'm looking forward to custom particle effects (the resources page seems to imply that we'll get them eventually), I'm dreading it too. Yet another thing to learn!
So I have a question everybody, I made a custom hook for Pudge and I got it in the game and everything, but when I use the skill where he throws the hook,he throws his original hook while my hook stays in his hand. Anybody know how I can fix this?

As you can see, my hook is still in his hands but the original is being thrown, I'm guessing I have to make custom animations yet I don't know where to start.
I've done work on some iPhone games and other freelance projects but ever since I started getting paid to make Dota 2 items I haven't done anything else.
And is doing items for Dota 2 more worth it than having a job in the industry?
I always though getting one or several dota 2 items in game would be a great catalyser
to land a job in the vidya game!...

If you are determined to do something with clothes, I suggest you use them on the part that has least movement. That could be some wraps around the part that connects the wings to her back or some cloth draping from sides etc. In it's current form, it would look weird with the stretches.

i work on an indie game here in brazil, and on the begging of the workshop i was still working with traditional modeling (or sculpture to appear more artistic =])
about your question over freelancer offer the answer is yes, im getting some but most of them on dota related stuff
got some job offers too but im lacking experience for them =]
I've been wanting to turn this into a taunt for so long. I'm going to have a field day! If anyone has any taunt suggestions let me know. That is all I'll be working on from here on out! So happy about these additions!

I can only see some .dmx . fbx and .maya
I used the .fbx (wich I ussualy dont couse most likely it wont look right ingame) , and indeed it doesnt except for the weapon , most items arent visible at all
(I reset all the scale/pos etc)
Any idea how to import .dmx into 3dsmax? or if there are any workaround?

The skull on the headgear doesn't seem to be the way to go as it is, not sure if I should do something similar to it or find something else to ornate the head with (or perhaps less is more there?). Also fiddling with colors a bit, I think like earlier sets he'll be having some runes on his clothing as well in the end.

Also, there will be an option to use the default animations for the abilities, such as lycan wolves, so you don't have to decompile stuff!

You could try decompiling the .smd from the game files
