@Luke- Thanks man! I'd happily share whatever little knowledge I have acquired. With these guys I've skipped the lineart, which is what I usually do, and just jumped straight to big shapes of color, and shadowshapes, followed with a little bit of smoothing of the transitions between light and shadow and an additional value for highlights. They took about 1-2 hours per character. Shoot me a message if you've got any specific questions. Yeah, my plan is to take them into 3D, and one beautiful day make a brawler game, similar to River City Ransom and Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara. Maybemaybe
@Nick Carver- Thank you very much Nick! I was thinking about making pre-production and production art for a Brawler along the lines of "River City Ransom", "Turtles in Time" or "Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over mystara". The world itself has a post apocalyptic fantasy setting with a "Big Trouble in Little China" (best movie ever made!) vibe. I figured I'd brush up on my 3D skills and model and texture them. Because I don't have a job atm, I'm doing things like this to work on my portfolio and keep myself drawing. I have no realistic plan to turn this into an actual game for the time being, but I'm allowing myself a little bit of daydreaming Cheerio!
I finally placed my corbels in this brownstone scene. Nothing else is sculpted at this point. I just wanted to replace my old render with the new corbels.
@ Rayph- Sorry man, that's some childish bullshit. At least your in good company with Paul Richards, Gray Ginther, and other major contributors that got fucked over on their credits.
I realized I could've mirrored some parts and achieved a better texture res, also the wood grain should've followed the shape of the spokes, same for the wooden part of the wheel...but at least I learned something new along the way
I'm calling this one done! I'm not 100% happy with the lower horns but the show must go on. I'll have orthos and a Retopo for this lady later in the week. For now I have to get back to another model I'm doing the textures for. Crits are incouraged and welcome!!
