J1ll - Nice job! The modeling and design are really cool : ]
I'm trying to make a Gordon Freeman next gen with a new HEV suit design that looks a little bit more modern. I've tried to make it look like a futuristic science suit since Gordon freeman is not really a "space marine " type character. Anyway Feedback and advices are welcome. And of course the crowbar is to come : ] !
Thanks EarVant, concept:ruin is a masterpiece, and actually this concept was inspired from there . I really loved their foliage, it was just so amazing..
Ithoual:
Kind of cool, like the textures though those thigh/hip armors would get in the way of mobility, so running kind of would be out of the question.

This is quite cool! I'm diggin everything but the saddlebags.
I see what you mean ( I liked the ball transformers thing : ] ). The apparent lack of mobility was wanted to have the feeling it's a science equipment (like the astronaut that can barely move in there suits). That's the HEV suit " pre " Black mesa incident and I thought about make a " post " version without helmet and with the pods replaced by a sort of light military stuff.

Hey guys, never posted on the WAYWO before. I always love what I see here and am hesitant to post. So I guess I will jump in head first, with a X post -___-

I really like the overall look! But I'm not quite sure about those huge things trapping his legs. What are they for? Currently it looks as if they would greatly limit the movements of his legs.
tnx man, yeah i suck at dynamic figures. i should practise that!
The effect was a compression artifact, didnt even notice it but youre right it does add a cool effect ^^
@Ravenslayer: nice. Can see some improvement in your latest paintings. This one have very nice colors - the pose is just OK. I know how hard it is to keep a dynamic action of character and a good design at the same boat.
One side note: I personally love the grainy/pixelated effect of the resampled image, maybe isn´t your not intention but it adds a good 80's feel for it.
And here´s something from me; it´s the Dark Elf for my Fantasy Series:

ah sorry, didn't see that post ;D. I get the idea but I think it's a bit too much right now. They just seem a bit too heavy and like he could barely move his legs at all if you consider the space given in front and in the back of the legs.
Well, I suck. I accidentally deleted my last image from my website and now its gone forever...D'oh! :poly122:
So, here's a new render and also Walt's high poly sculpt straight outta ZB.
@dustinbrown thanks man! Hehe, yeah, there's a definite resemblance...in fact, you're not the first person to bring up that fact. Wonder if Freeman ever dabbled in the galactic meth trade?
Doing a lot of prop/FX, here is my latest swf animation Water + barges
link to the animation http://megaswf.com/serve/2464360/
small file too, only about 150kb [land & bridge art are removed for the final asset, saves download]

@rynomyte - that is sick work! I love how you got down every detail of his looks and character!
I haven´t had much time to work on this lately, but I got to know that I made his eyes "to kind" so I tried to work on it a bit. this is what I came up with. Cheers!

respawnrt: looking sweet brah' respect! I started a honda civic a long time ago didnt finish heh
darkbox: looking great man. You should make your own thread for better feedback. Loving the proportions so far. Though id either make the legs slimmer and longer or thicker and shorter or slimmer and shorter
suadk: Nice! Question: did you extract the surface bump map from the diffuse? or did you sculpt in the pores with alphas and used that?

Update on my winecellar! Sorry about the huge image!
EDIT: the triangular plane will be an alpha with a webbing texture attachment.
If it is not apparent I want to go a more bug like exoskeleton and theme.
