bio that tessellation looks nice but it looks like you might have some shading errors on the end edge piece where that weird highlight is showing up. You might want to harden that edge and break the island.
Nick, that is sweet.
started polypainting this dude and made some proportion changes, not really sure how far I feel like taking this one. Not very excited about it.
@xvampire & @Nick Carver guysss, these concepts are freakin awesome. Really like the shading on xvampire faces, and the mood from nick carver concept is really well done.
@nick carver, very cool work! really like the atmosphere...
here is an update wip of project I am doing on my spare time, its a short cinematic based on a concept by john wallin...
I ve added some debris, but need lots more of different kinds, bottles, cig boxes, more bottles, wood...etc... also I did a first zbrush pass on some walls and the floor.
Hey guys. Didn't get any feedback on my torso like I'd hoped, but hopefully this one will be a little more fun. Started it today, first try at a full body. Really not entirely sure what I'm doing, just trying things out.
Cross posting, an update after too long on mah Huntress character:
More info in the thread, but I'll just say I'm aware of the weird cloak folds, that's because there was a backpack strap there which is now gone, and I just haven't got around to redoing that area (3:30am )

jramauri - I like where it's at now. It still has a very strong painterly vibe. The color palette and the golden halo remind me a lot of byzantine art. Cool stuff man.
Well fibermesh is slowly becoming less clumsy in my hands, which is gratifying. I've just about finished working out the shape/flow of the hairstyle. It still needs refinement but I'm happy where it's going. Also I'll need to go back to the head and paint some hair in to help blend the fibermesh hairs better.
After that it will be time to work more on the materials to help everything read correctly. That and lighting.
This is a mermaid model that I went back to recently to try and finish up. I decided to really push myself and make use of multiple textures for defuse color, specularity, normals and specular color, as well as post-production render work.
Her tail coloring is based off Fraiser's dolphin, as I figured that was a better choice then a fish (biologically speaking).
What a beautiful page 349 it is!
Thunderent: A typical crit of hard surface work - edges are too tight, loosen them up. I don't think the outer rim of the wheels would bake well, i'd give it a wider lip.
Hey guys, great work coming from this thread lately. In the past month or two I've been trying to improve my anatomy which is terrible at the moment. Still have a lot to do with this character, but so far so good.
Since I've been doing so much 2D at work for the last several months (unfortunately 95% of it is just boring UI stuff), and since I'm so new to any form of 2D art for gaming, I decided to take what I've learned and start applying it to fun stuff
I'm in the mobile space so I've been doing a lot of research lately on 2D games and such. Just my try at a little tank type thing . It's a hover tank if you can't tell, left out of the glowing underbelly in this. It's about 40 minutes to an hours worth of work

Here's another illustration for the project:

thread here
I'd like to ask you guys if textures are more interesting like they were before, more sketch and painterly or now, more refined?
So much epic atm!
Also, so many picture quotes on this page... seriously
Little girl I been working on:
And with a bit of poly paint:
That emissive looks sexy

stefan thats a sweet render dude!

I like the more refined look. I agree with Mr. Hobo that it reads better while still maintaining a painterly style.
Here's my update of my Spider that I've been working on. It's pretty much done.
I'm embarassed to show my work here among these awesome artists....
Anyway here's what I'm working on...Civil War Cannon,still working on the high-poly
Looking for some crits.
