Some killer work here! I'm consistently getting eye boners. Haha.
@The Flying Monk It is indeed 80s as fuck man. Hahaha. The movie itself is awesome. Basically High Noon in space. Finding reference is rough though. I had to scour the internet; since the only images that exist are movie stills, b/w pics from the movie production, and some other low rez stuff. So far, it's proving enough to get by
@Chimp love this style @ladyknowles these are looking pretty sweet, might be worth using a curvature map on the diffuse to bring out the edges a little more
Hi all. This is my version of Abe from Oddworld Abbes Odyssey. I've decided to make him more realistic and brutal. I'm also going to make a some enviroment from the game.
FUCKING A for ABE also nice to see a mudakon with 4 fingers ! why the fuck did they change that to 3 in later games ? ... and they change the craters on the moon too to fit ...just ... retarded.
anyway that is what i am working on:
id love a paintover if someone can find a moment because i am not too happy with the composition here.
As for the composition.. maybe a bright planet or something off to the top left? The right side with the bright green feels really strong. The dark blue doesn't pull my eye like the green does.
GragGunslinger,
The metroid is looking sweet, and I like the idea of recreating that title screen in 3d. One thing I would recommend is adding a bit more of a curve to the metroid hatchling's mandibles to relate more to the source material.
As for what I'm working on I'm hammering out an illustration at the moment. Let me know what you think.

Fingus - Right now the body is a 4k map and the armor/clothing at the moment all have their own @ 1k but I will combine all the armor into one map @ 4k methinks.
Rion411 - Thank you
BoBo the seal - Thanks a bunch! I'll see what I can do to improve his lion armor...
I definetly have newer versions... The one with the weapons in it is a little older and less detailed, The one after is just the poly flow and reduction, but Doesn't show the normal maps. I will keep updating, I know the polyflow isn't "perfect" if thereis such a thing out there, its not close to it. this is my 3rd (eventually) rigged character. And like my 5th character model all together. Let me know what you think. You can check out more and quicker updates at http://dasorgs.deviantart.com/
It's too noisy, the shapes of the rocks read somehow like penises to me, now you're on Polycount so that's good.
But overall it doesnt look like rock. More like dry mud over something.:poly124:
And NOW I'm going to have some kind of fear that every rock I sculpt will look like a penis, haha. Thanks for the help, I agree on all counts. I'll be making more rocks soon, so I'll watch out for it being too noisy and dry mud-like. My technique is lacking, so I tried to hide it under the noise, I think, subconsciously.

Just started working on a Metroid, planning on doing the whole Super Metroid title screen environment.
Wewt.

Eoq - How would the codpiece work when animating his legs? I feel that you'd get some bad intersections when he moves around.
That's pretty awesome. Can you talk a bit about how you achieved those effects?
