Unexpected surprises are both surprising and excellent.
While testing out a screen overlay in Unity, I happened to walk out of the enclosed forest I was using, and into a canyon area where I could see the skybox, which I hadn't seen at all after adding said overlay:
i saw this character in the girls thread. im diggen where its goin! i think your environment textures in this seen need some lovin though!
Hi everyone, here's a sculpt I created recently, which was sculpted in Zbrush and rendered using Keyshot. I know this is quite a games orientated site, but I'm lucky enough that I create game characters for a living and so I needed to just have some care-free fun with Zbrush in my free time.
Anyway, I hope you like and any C&C are more than welcome.
Love this! Very well done. Makes me want to take on something this dynamic,
Tpose Elite!
Will be some time before i got this all wrapped up, might aswell show some of it now.
Going to do some 3d concepting for the armor mike jensen style now.
There are still areas i dont like too much but i want to see what the armor will cover up at this point. It's been a great training but i like to finish it aswell.
End goal is to make a 3d print out of this, not as it is but in full armor, posed, and and dual swords perhaps? So ya time to move on to the next stage
My daily routine has changed quite a bit during this last month. I bought several books in the internet, drawing lessons, animal anatomy, drawing the clothed figure... and a drawing pad. So I'm drawing almost full time. I'm improving quite fast! I spent the day today studying drapery and folds, drawing like 5 or 6 examples of types of folds or so, and during the evening I had fun making this drawing. It was like 3 hours with shading and everything. I used a 2HB pencil for everything.
I know it's not 3d or digital anything but anyway, here you got...
while I don't prefer this style of link, it's looking good! The geometry on the ankle/heel of the boots looks really wierd; almost like it's broken
Also your belt buckles just sit ontop of both belts...no belt actually "goes through" the buckle. It's the first thing I noticed :x, might want to fix that

Thanks, I'm working off the Ocarina of Time artwork but I'm adding my own spin on it based on a bunch of photo reference I've gathered. (I will probably start a separate thread for all of this stuff when i get a little further along).
Computron, thanks!
Yea i've been on a bit of a spree when it comes to those, really great videos.
Started doing some blocking out/concepting in that manner and its so fast and gives you instant visual feedback of how it can turn out.
Made a smallish sci-fi scene to show at our school's exhibition/self-promotion thing. Not quite finished, but I submitted it like this 'cause I ran out of time. Any c&c is welcome before I put it on my actual portfolio though.
Here's my progress on The Zombiewagon (modeled after my belowed car, Opel Corsa D -96)
Im almost ready to duplicate that half and start to model the tires and other props it will have..
Im not going to spoil what it will be like, you will see it then!
Did a little quick sculpt today took about 4 or 5 hours its an Ogre from WoW thinking about taking it down to low poly and doing some hand painted textures and yes i know the cloth is done really badly its because i want to hand paint it haha also thinking about rigging him.
Fnitrox, I like that style. looks like the structure of the face could use some exaggeration though? looks a little flat right now. Same with the texture, it doesn't imply much in the way of form.
DJ_Aaron, I love the proportions on that guy!
Millenia, beautiful AK! it looks very slightly plastic though, could use some spec/gloss tweaks? maybe I'm being too picky
Here are a couple of concepts for a uni project. crits are very welcome
making progress on my small turn tile based stratgy game.
made the whole network thing somehow working, guess ill add some science stuff next.
working prototype can be found here risk game build features single & multiplayer. AI is rather stupid, only does random moves - so dont expect it doint anything clever.
Currently it's just a 3ds max blockout that i'm steadily building into a concept in PS for my UDK attempt if i ever get round to it.
It's my interpretation of a realistic approach to the Spark of Imagination from Ulduar in WoW. Been working on the inital sketches (really crappy) for a long while now and finally got started on a 3D representation a week ago.
Is look nice buw would like to have have cradit given =(. Looks good tho. But rally yu should credit me & faerien too... like he say split credit becuz he shod credit.
I would give credit, but i won't. I never ever seen your box, it's not inspired at all by your stuff, and anyway, you should check your typo (And your art too, this stuff is kinda creep). My box is inspired on a real life box we made at my college, for fun, with scissors and a sharpie, 3 years ago.
I always give credits when it's appropriate, this is not. Sorry.
Anyway, it's a box with holes, i am not, and you are probably not, the first one to do this. Don't know if your are trolling or just high.
AHAHAHA, oh god I'm dying! Sorry to have a laugh at your expense Felix, he was trolling! This was deep. The genius thing is, he took a satirical troll post he made from two years ago and carried over the 'character' to this post. I was reading it with a total 'wtf' look on my face untill I saw the username
Welp, that was second place post-of-the-year for me.

Kinda happy this was all trolling. The fact is, you don't know how much all this made me laugh (and my friends, at the same time), as i was reading/writting. Yep, post of the year X) .
You can't never really be sure of what's going on on internet.
I really like the look of it, its maybey just me but i think its feels like the obecjt feels wery hard and the ground werry soft. maybey it sound weird or obvius but i dont mean it material wise just that it doesent feel like the ground and obect doesent feel like it fit tohether in someway.
Duncan: thanks man, glad you like it, been a fan of your work for some time so means alot. Id love to win a competition but there ar esome amazing entries i dont think its likely still great fun to participate. That egg thing looks insane. what is it for?
Daphz: Thanks alot man, your character is looking so awsome. I love the pose but i think the weapon is facing the wrong way.
Here are some lo-fi environment assets I'm working on. The whole pack fits on a 512. I'm going to have 2 or 3 more batches of these assets, they should primarily be used for RTS's in Unity, but they aren't so low poly that they couldn't be used in a 3rd person game. They are all hand painted so far and I'm pretty happy with them. I just wish I could turn off texture filtering in Marmoset.
The next batch will have a few modular buildings, and some more boxes, dumpsters, etc... A 3rd batch will have some terrain pieces (rocks, small bushes, craters) and some tiling terrain textures (sand, grass, rocks, blending)
Thanks for looking, C & C weeeelcome! I know I still have some seams to paint out when I get toward the end.

gonna start on the head tomorrow and then bring it into Zbrush for some sculpting

Thats awesome model!
More work on my Stonecore Environment. I also finished this weeks write up regarding my process. Check it out here.
Here's something i've started working on:

I went back to this asset and experimented with some more dramatic lighting in Toolbag. here are the results:
still working on slash from Q3A....
might almost have the HP finished by next week.

I love you.

You can't never really be sure of what's going on on internet.
After seeing Haz's student's work I got inspired to create a female bust and here it is. Still a bit to be done but it's coming along nicely.
What are you doing to get the normals to show up in Max like that?
You can use xoliul that is free. http://xoliulshader.com/
And 3point that is both free and to buy. http://www.3pointstudios.com/3pointshader_about.shtml
Probalby exsist more but dont know about them. hope this helps.
Shameless crosspost from my scene-thread (http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1581084#post1581084)
I'm using an ancient DX shader a friend of mine tossed my way that was made for max 6 and luckily still works in every version of max.
I'd mention other ones to use but S_ource above me covered it
Daphz: Thanks alot man, your character is looking so awsome. I love the pose but i think the weapon is facing the wrong way.
Chimp: Thanks alot
jramauri: Cheers, i had tones of fun making him.
@ BoBo: Can't wait for those details. He is looking sick!
@ Graze: Thanks. I am sure you will do well. The egg is for nothing except a bit of fun.....that is starting to turn sour now so..........
Gonna call it done coz I am sick of looking at something that was just supposed to be a bit of quick fun.
Thanks Everyone
Keep those Rads coming.

Impala88: Oooooh, perty!
Wahlgren: ballin' I can't wait to see more progress.
garyriley31: Masterful work, man! very inspiring. Thanks for sharing!
