what kind of job is it for? it's pretty kewl and makes me want to play HL2 again, but there's things that I might crit differently depending on if it's for level design or gameplay or scripting, tec.
Adam: Thanks. I've tried to express more struggle/conflict. How else do you think I can push the visual storytelling?
Perhaps some bloody footprints showing direction of the killer - maybe going out the door? Think about where the guy was when he was attacked - was he at his desk on the computer? I see that as likely given what you have right now. If so, maybe then show some bloody footprints exiting through the double doors, but nowhere else - implying this guy maybe was attacked from behind while sitting at his desk at his computer and that the killer was either already in the house or got in initially another way. Also, maybe more of a concentration of blood near/around the chalk outline, as it seems there's actually little blood in that immediate area which is a little weird.
Could also put maybe a picture frame or a mirror either on the desk with the laptop/monitor or on the wall right above the desk. Could serve as an indication/explanation that perhaps he was at his desk, and near the last moment caught a glimpse of his attacker in the reflection - and that's why the brief struggle ensued (because if you're being attacked from behind with a deadly weapon and you DON'T notice it, then you wouldn't expect there to really be a struggle.) I considered also the possibility of maybe dirt/muddy footprints coming from the foreground/approaching the desk from behind, and then bloody ones going out - but I think the difference between muddy/dirty and bloody may be too difficult to clarify with the grayscale.
Food for thought, though I think the changes you've already made are a large improvement.
I haven't posted anything in a while, (or much at all ) so I thought I would throw up some of what I had been working on recently. I'm currently working on something else, but will hopefully get back to this scene soon. Used a combination of Z-Brush and 3DS max for he character and scene. I dont have a lot of my home pics at work, but I do have him animated and the scene is a little further along but I thought you may enjoy these.
Some kind of bat creature i made from sphere, around 3 hours....
Really nice work!
However it seems his abs have descended a bit. First set of the "six-pack" sits on top of the ribcage just below the pecs. (human anatomy that is, but this seems to be based on it)
@Chadabees, Truedeja, Gannon, eY3lEs5, thanks for the nice words I'm so happy for the positive comments that I've gotten Be sure to check out my mate Nijes work and the entire progress thread over here: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83789

:O Whoa
could i see some set-up pick on how you did this? modify etc
maybe put a bit more segments in the sphere so it doesnt look so low poly. otherwise awesome
SICK MEk! but the black background kills. sometimes I feel like a good presentation is more important than the actual work being showcased :P
