update on the passive questing; seems there's no way to move forward with the main questline as you have to kill that undead with the dragonstone. Companions, conjures, etc all count as a kill. Still a billion hours of other things to do, so I'm enjoying it.

If there's a trap in the dungeon, is it possible to kite the boss to it? I'm totally curious to see how far you can go without actually "killing" something.
edit: Bah, pretty sure there isn't a trap in those cells... plenty before hand, though. Boo.

Zip, no opportunity as it's treated as a boss mob that auto agros the player. Though now that I've left, maybe if I go back he'll be calmed down. Still not sure I can pickpocket the undead. Not much success with that.
Have you tried poison yet? They probably...almost...definitely changed it in Skyrim, but in Oblivion poison did not count as a kill (whereas conjured creatures, commanded/frenzied enemies, etc all did) if it was actually the poison that killed them.
Though undead are immune to poison, if you can get a weakness to poison enchantment, you should be able to poison them. ...but...my memory also is leaning towards there being no weakness to poison enchantments in this game...so that's probably not viable even if poison DIDN'T count...

Agree, too bad the path-finder system for the Companions AI is kaput. They will literally get stuck on a flat plane for no reason when in Blackreach. My advice is take the elevator to Skyrim, send them off back home, and go back down and continue exploring alone.

PS: Turn down the Gamma also ;P
Yeah, it really sucks that AI is so bad at times, we used to joke about the bots you had in Anarchy Online, keep running the wrong way, getting stuck into tables ect.
I know AI is tough to make, but they really should get some sort of AI API made for games, which can be improved over time and maybe made use of the GPU, if the resources are there, to do the work.
The least they could do is implement the Teleport feature that Oblivion had, the one where when from a certain distance from you, your companions would port to you, as well when you go through a door.
Why they took that out of Skyrim is beyond me...don't know if they included it in the latest patch or not.
the Most memorable moment of playing this game was find that gigantic dungeon! shit's crazy fun!
Yeah it was ace, spent ages in there trying to get the red nirnroots, totally wasnt worth it, but good to explore a huge place like that. My effects weren't actually working properly at that time, i think they were meant to be glowing to make it easier.
Anyone do the three necklace charms quest? The one where a powerful mage used it but his sons took it from him etc etc? I missed it in my first playthrough so it was quite a shock when I came across it on my archer playthrough.
That's the sort of thing the game needed more of. When I first came across Blackwater I thought I had stumbled on a great treasure however it turned out to be part of the main quest and there really wasn't anything worth exploring down there. If that damn smithing wasn't in the game I think I'd have had more fun exploring ancient tombs and what not. I like the idea of finding lost treasure or the best weapon in the game in some over the top maze like dungeon.
I think I did that three necklace thing you're talking about. It was quite fancy.
Also I agree with you about Smithing Habboi. I'm going to intentionally avoid it next time I play so it doesn't ruin dungeon exploring for me. A large part of why I loved exploring was to find a new fancy piece of gear but there's literally nothing I've found in the last 20 or so dungeons I did that came even close to being better than my Dragon Scale armor and Daedric weapons.

Your problem is that you're choosing things based on stats, rather than based on what looks cool.

At least be happy about it. Back in my days, all you usually got was a reskinned lowly iron dagger as your rogues ultimate weapon, and the more refined silver/demonic weapons were kicked out on the curb.
Also, Daedric at least looks cool in this game. Morrowind and Oblivion has pretty nasty looking armors.
Oh my bloody hell, I didn't know that those gloves gave you unarmed bonus! I was trying to find such items for my puncher build, but couldn't, so I gave up for Shield and Sword instead AFTER I sold those!
ARGH, on my next run, I'm bee-lining for those gloves!

Is this a known bug for Blackreach?
One of my followers is permanently stuck there Tried dismissing her, pushing her, leaving, quick traveling...even moved her around a bit with shouts, but to no avail.
She still talks and rotates to face me, but just wont ever move or follow me. Sad since she had such a good attitude about being a gear mule...
Try drawing out your sword while near them and quick saving, quick loading.
Also, if on PC try the TLC/TCL (no collision) command and go towards the elevator, a couple of seconds after they should port right next to you.
Honestly, I wish you luck, took me a good 15 minutes in finding them, and another good 15 min just getting them to follow me to elevator so I can go back up, dismiss them and go back.
get the elder scroll before the main quest? Parthinax is all 'you must go on a quest to find the elder scroll!' and I was like 'what's an elder scroll? Oh you mean this thing? Whatevs'
This is one game where even some of the bugs are great.
I've played over a hundred hours of this game so far. Longest I've played a game in years, still havent touched most of the main quest or loads of other quests. Still havent had my fill yet.

Wow, that's.. quite obvious when you think about it lol. I'd forgotten about traps. I wonder how far you can actually get without killing, then.
Hahahahahahaha! Both the Thieves Guild and Shego's sections where what I would call canon.
remarkably easy to kill though..
axe and heal set up whack heal whack heal whack heal.. actually this combo works for most things except the frigging giants..
and whats the deal with dragon bones weighing so much omfg.... total logistical pain in the arse...
I want a dragin pet thats also a mount .. totally imba so I can fry giants from the air
most amazing thing I've seen in the game

Even made a little 'engineers diary' for it http://dl.dropbox.com/u/997277/misc/ao_diary.txt

Yes! Powerful necklace, crazy fight to get it. Maybe one of the better boss battles in the game since it's tiered and all.

"You are dragonborn!"
:poly116: "Bitch I'm a dragon!"
Time to roll a Nord, is there a increased blood and gore mod out yet?
I want my punches to cave in faces.
Quest items are weightless even though they show they have weight :poly142:
I killed silus Vesuius after he made me walk all the way to dawnstar with a stupid invite to see his museum..
wanted me to get bits of a dagger.. lazy bastard
I didnt like his face so I killed him
so it seems I dont get to have the dagger now..
nevermind!
