So my friend and I started a character based on the Badass Unarmed Viking instructional video. It's pretty great; he's level 5 and his fists do more damage than most weapons you'd have at that point.
I cannot wait for the Kit. As soon as it comes out, I'm going to have team-up with a coder so that I can create gauntlets of each armor type (ones meant for punching people to death) and put them uniquely in the game alongside proper unarmed combat system.
eh I agree with the disconnect when hitting dragons , but do think that when you fight something that size its pretty hard to make the interaction look good.. that being said Id love to see a dragon dodge melee attacks on it and be more intelligent ie fly when your character is melee and land when the player is ranged.
I do loooove so much the finishing moves, I've had 4 or 5 epic jump on the dragon and smack the shit out of it! want dragon decapitation !! lol
one of my screenies ^_^
also nothing is hard anymore lvl 34 heavy dragon set with 4/5juggernaut & matching set bonus.Have dual wield dragon bane and axe with 19 magicka damage and all the dual wield perks.
am thinking now maybe switch to light armor and go back to dual wield magic and turn up the difficulty to master
The "Missing in Action" one where you search for Thorald Grey-Mane is neat, but broken. There's apparently no way to get him rescued without bloodshed at the prison.
The "A Night to Remember" one where you drink with "Sam" in the bar in Whiterun... someone was watching 'The Hangover' when they thought that mission up, and I loved it!
The mission in Solitude where you've gotta get into the closed off wing of the castle to find the one guy's "master". Forget the name of the mission.
The last two have something I'm really digging about them.. who you get to meet. I won't spoil it for you, but it's pretty amusing.
As far as the dragons being weak, I saw a great example of that last night. I was in the middle of the "A Night to Remember" mission, and was just leaving a town out in the wilderness when a dragon swooped on it. It landed on the other side of a small hill and started fighting something... turned out the be a giant. The giant took down about a third of the dragon's health in no time with barely a scratch from the dragon. I managed to finish off the dragon, and ended up killing the giant too. The giant actually went down pretty easy with a few arrows. (My guy's a level 26 currently).
Just as a small note incase people missed it, they updated the PC version this past evening with an inherent "4GB" update. We should no longer need to launch Skyrim through the 4GB mod, simply running the regular .exe or opening it up like any other game in your steam library will launch a Skyrim capable of using 4GB of your precious rams.
after seeling the hobbit trailer I just realised I can play as gandalf omfg.. sword staff combo.. I just need to find some extra long pyjamas in game
EDIT
actually I want skyrim movie.. that would be so bad ass.. nevermind hairy feet hobbits..
Is anybody gaming with Skyrim (Or Batman AC) on the 360? My girlfriend brought me both for Christmas which is awesome, but I'm staying with her and her family for Christmas week and amazingly, I can only game on a TV that is pal-50 (and not even HD, what a total arse for a week). Pal-60 will work, but will stutter a bit and make a lovely noise. Joy.
How the hell do you unlock more of the shouts, I've probably killed ten or so dragons. The full fus ro dah and the basic 'move like the wind' one you're taught are the only two shouts I'm allowed to do, despite having found four other shout words so far.
You need to spend dragon souls. press tab, go to Magic, then Shouts, then select a shout and press something or another (it's shown somewhere) to spend a soul on that shout.

Good grief... I've played up to level 26 and missed that? :poly127:
It took me about that long too. Why selecting a locked shout doesn't give you the option to unlock it is beyond me. NOPE, hit a special button.
Yeah, I don't remember any tutorials about it, and the enchanted weapons lets you know about it. For it being a big feature of the game, that's a bit of a slip-up.
Updating after wasting more time with graphics mods.
Enhanced Shaders: updated and with more visible differences. You can get pretty decent results, but honestly it takes a shitload of dicking around in the .ini.
ENB: updated with much better results, but the last version gives me like 1 fps with SSAO enabled. And unfortunately the shader works in such a way that SSAO is an integral part of the total package; Turning it off washes everything out. There's loads and loads of potential in this mod and I can't wait for the final stable product, but for now it's not there yet. The author did however take care of the super cartoony nighttime problem, which is nice.
FXAA Injector: updated with presets, and I have to say it's quite nice. Simple to install, simple to configure, easy to enjoy. This won't give you results as nice as ENB, but it won't rape your framerate either.
Except he said they're trying to take what players enjoyed in Origins and apply it, in addition to other things.
It's hard though, as dragon age 2 is what origins players did not enjoy, so basically they need to take dragon age 2, and apply not dragon age 2.
But with their eyes on the success of skyrim, they're not going to be able to hold any kind of steady ground, grasping for other things and then losing the roots they had.
Skyrim: Usefulness of Horses ... lol.... really bethesda? wkk, might need to learn from R* ^^
There are a bunch of exploits like that, the most easy to learn is the fact that if you have a sharp edge of a mountain, two polygons paralel to eachother, you can spam the jump as you slip over to the other polygon, and it will count as landing properly from a jump and you can jump again and thus gain a higher position.
Thats the standard Skyrim mountain climbing method eld. I've climbed loads of mountains, using that. Its funny arriving at some of these high up places from the wrong direction.
They should just put in a crawling animation and let you crawl up the mountains. I mean why not, you can go there anyways? Maybe restrict vertical faces though, that would be rather extreme.
Kind of like that spell in morrowind. Cool whats this wizard doing here, and whats this scroll lets try that. "OOOHH ffuuuuuucckk".
Shame they had to get rid of the levitation and stuff, I hope for the future they are going to get back to the fully open world(no loading screens at all).

Also, proper Viking attire.

I can't be the only one who came across this cave full of Reach lovers?

I'm in the UK, just FYI.

Making it even less like origins
Although, if Bethesda did add something like that in the game - and by Talos I hope they did - I will have to start a Bethesda worship cult.
Throw them nerds a few words here and there to tell part of the lore which is hidden, and you can make up for alot of the shortcomings in the game.

For other mods:
Skip Bethesda Intro - No more intro, just straight to menu.

like if I was looking at the ground and jumped and used the shout.. should send me 30 feet into the air..
and then splat.
Just need the Well Padded Booties of Soft Landing.

now Im partly tempted to get Oblivion...
but I'll probably hate it because its not like skyrim..
Play it as it was first envisioned, and then at your second play-through just go wild with mods.
But turn all those SSAO and other stuff with those hax posted on previous pages.
Install everything here except the first two shaders, val's crafting and immersive hud: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1485101&postcount=2405
UI changes will make your life much better without altering the artistic vision of the game.
Or else you will start having weird things like moving objects, bears humping buildings and enemies flying off-screen when they get punched.
Literally, the whole game mechanics are tied to your FPS, no kidding.
:poly108:
So... you're telling me to turn off V-sync?
you've been a massive mmo fan in the mid 90ies? whoah i didn't even have internet back then!
Gave me a 20 fps boost! Not everyone has the same results, but sure improved things for me.

Does it make me a bad person that I laughed, and then stopped when I realized where that was?
