Turning the highway at the spawn into a rail track. Used 4 stacks of rails so far on it and got to where theres waterfalls coming off the sides of the path. More to come as i keep hitting loaded cave networks in my strip mine so ore is abundant.
i think its a good idea to put signs at the entrances of cave systems that have been fully mined. just to let people know theres nothing left so they dont waste their time.
I did enter. What is the most sad though is that there were alot of really awesome guys entering the compo, good pixel artists even, and none of them in the top or even mentioned.

I can't believe someone that doesn't even have the rectitude not to steal someone else work, won the contest, I seriously hope this art theft isn't taken lightly, its far to common to see artist "borrowing" other peoples work with the convince of the internet. Its disrespectful and down right dirty to steal someone else's work and claim it as your own.
It's possible the intentions were harmless, and the artist most likely doesn't know the legal implications of just grabbing something from google images, but it was still clearly stated in the rules of the competition that it had to be all your own work.
Edit: Which includes a bigger part of the paintings in the paintings file, as well as googled images for the mobs, and probably some more.
Finished my lovely rail network across the highway near the spawn. It follows all the way to my base about 600-700 squares down the line Took 12 stacks of iron and unbelivable amount of time. All the boosters are stable along with the automatic track parts. (can screw the server otherwise)
Also need to thank people for iron donations and mad pixel' + Inf3ction for helping me get further into my caves for the iron
So expansion is easier on n00b's now.
Just letting people know they're welcome to harvest my crops so long as they replant. I also offer a chest of bread for 1 diamond but you're better off just growing your own and I'm too lazy to deliver. It's near spawn next to a giant castle.
bah! tried out the PC server for the 2nd time yesterday, managed to build my own little mine... was near a bunch of burning trees near the desert with some big flaming floating building within view behind me...
found a new cave system and got bum humped by a green penis dude and some zombies and can't get my bearings to find my lair again... had found ore and coal too

yeah those green phaluses have been ruining that area recently... im in the ugly square block on top of the hill over the other side of lazuruses fort (you should be able to use his railway to get to your place if imm correct
YAY! Nice job eld. I use your pack To me, it's the best "minecraft" pack around. It does a great job of embracing the spirit of the original art, but just making it look a lot better. Also the fact you use the original or very similar icon silhouettes is nice.
There's nothing worse than a texture pack that makes you re-learn what everything is.
Congrats Eld! As mentioned before your pack is the most complimentary to the game, and enhances rather than reduces usability in terms of UI , tool, and block recognition. Wouldn't swap it for any other brand.
i guess that's what happens when people without a clue are supposed to judge artsy stuff.

Congrats Eld, I think you'll like the SSD, I'm running an Intel 80gb SSD as my boot drive and I haven't had any issues with space, I put data and games on my secondary drive.
