Maybe it's the lighting, but that model is lacking in the texture department. It feels like it should be popping alot more. It's looking very flat and uninspiring at the moment.
The high poly looks awesome from what I can see, but it's hard to tell because your images are quite small.
NEOX:) sheesh, Storm turned out disgustingly good, can't wait for the final pose.
n88tr - I get exhausted just looking at that. Turns out Ive been exercising too; I just spent the last five minutes searching for something to open a beer with, and Im tired.
Love it, you seem to be able to so easily create an awesome mood with so little that I'm always surprised.
n88tr: As Kewop mentioned, working out 7 days a week really isn't helpful at all. Your body doesn't build muscle during exercise, but does so post-workout. Have a minimum of a day between work out days for growth and recovery. And yeah, make sure your caloric intake isn't too low:P
here's what I've been working on in the last several weeks, a female draenei character (no specific class ). I just finished the retopology and going to start painting the textures. She's around 20k tris.
@tottaire: That's looking pretty damn cool, man. I can't find any critique at the moment but I would love to see views from the back as well. Keep up the good work!
Edit: Ok, I found some: The clothing piece between her legs has a whole lot of polygons. I think you can get away with 1/3 of what you have right now.
Here is a character I'm working on. It's a young sloth wizard sort of thing. Still WIP But critique is welcome;
I made a quick walk-cycle for him too just to fix the rig.
Nice Goraaz! Why didn't u use all these colors b4?
Add some of the tribal designs on his main garment & hat. Since it's bigger and more central, make them so as well. Good stuff!
@Neox, I've really enjoyed looking at your progress on Storm. It's a way cool rendition, and that hair turned out fantastic. The amount of detail you put into everything is freakin' wild. Awesome job.
My paintings are several magnitudes of order below the quality of Jackwhat's, but you don't get better by not practicing. I've been re-working an old environment concept, and I could use some general crits to help me move forward with this.
Dude. Ease up on the weird backgrounds. We're not here to look at bad Photoshop layer effects, we're here to look at what you're actually trying to show us. If you're going to post wireframes, put them on a simple, clean background. That goes for everything else as well, really.
god damn it my brain is down the drain... 5am i am done, forgive if the beautyshot looks well i dunno can't say anymore haven't slept for a while and have to wake up at 9 makes 4 hours of fine sleep!
here we go i am done!
11998 tris, 4 2k maps, diffuse, gloss, spec and normals
Pretty freakin' rad, Neox. I especially like that she can have her hood up and down and also put her hands in her pockets. Excellent details all around.
Congrats on finishing, Neox. I would say "great result" but it's been pretty awesome the whole way. Was fun to watch it develop. Looks great!
Also, why did no one post a GD thread about the ArenaNet thing? I would have definitely tried to do that. Finding out about it after it's over sucks...

hey gorazz - man the casting time on this wizard would be epically slow heh
..I spell every 10 mins
Neox, this is so f***ing cool !1!1!
The only thing i could criticize is the little grain in the normal of the jean, but excpet that, this is just about perfect.
Just a question about the hairs on the last image, are they painted or is this your original hair planes that you modify ?

really like him, but i think you can push him even more, the jaw is so massive, might be cool to see him with a smaller skull

btw I have to say I agree with Dean, about those workout exercises :P
love the paintings jack
god DAMN I wish I knew about that they where even giving out environment concepts if you preferred to enter with that.
I just wanted to introduce myself. I recently moved to Austin TX in hopes of putting my 3D modeling skills to use in the game industry.
A lot of people have recommended this site as a good place to start.
So "Hi"

I know, right?
@ Neox, incredible. Just really excellent, I hope I can create something even half the caliber of work you've done.

Here's a base sculpt mesh for my upcoming Zeratul fanart.
Grab from Zbrush viewport and a render from Zbrush using BPR
Thanks neox. A smaller head wouldnt really fit with the hat I wanted, hope it makes more sense now..
Oh look I made something rather then just being lazy.
Doing more hand-painted stuff on the bottom of this windmill I'm making. Just laying down bases now.
