kinda feel like the handle connector to chain needs some more solid type of hilt, but its looking hot. Im wondering if the tight details will show wellin the normal, should be money though! lookin ace!
Slipstream: Thanks man! I'll see what I can do about beefing up the forearm even more
Kamui: Thanks for the feedback man, I might change the nades still
nutsy: Cheers, your entry is looking sick! Glad to see you around this year
JFletcher: Hehe, thanks for keeping an eye on it regardless...definitely confirms wha tI was thinking
gagajain: Yeah, probably!
Slum: Thanks!
moose: Yeah, I'm wondering how the smaller detail will transfer over myself...fun to do, either way, but it'll be interesting to see how much of it was worth it, hehe. Thanks for the feedback, bulking up the grip might not be a bad idea...and definitely more straps!
onelung: Still kind of playing with ideas...on the front he'll mostly be strapped up with bullets, random leather bags. For the back I think he'll have a ripped up cloak and armor leading from the shoulderpad (seen below)...still nothing final though.
kessler: Soon, precious.
newman:
dur: WE WILL GRIND THEIR BONES TO MAKE OUR BREAD
Davidskiwan: Thanks!
Alright, did some work on his shoulder pad. Going for demon sort of theme on his arm and the bits of armor he'll have. Let me know what you think!
Sweet man... you've even got that fancy DOF going on The feathered bits feel like they might be a touch of an afterthought, but the rest of that shoulder pad is super solid. That face area is just excellent... the only thing I could think of there would be to try a slightly angry squint to the eyes? It's really well done, and the level of detail is at a nice balance of "man there is a lot going on" and readability.
His shoulder armor look kool....
Everytime i see that it inspire me to make same character... Man Gav your demon is spelling hypothesis trick on me....
foreverendering: Thanks man
konstruct: Thanks!
kary: Thanks man, I might get around to touching it up in a final pass later on
kamui: Cheers
don: (Post some updates there...guy)
gaganjain: Thanks dude
jox: Thanks man, glad you like the direction it's going in. And yeah, for the most part I am, hehe
Alright, just a quick update. Didn't have much time to play tonight, sadly. but did manage to get some done on the arm bits. I might move the bicep plate up some looking at it now. Intending on having a more detailed forearm piece that leads to an armored "demon claw", so keeping the arm area kind of close to the surface and fairly simple for that..
damn u! that looks sweet, as much as i dislike face-shoulder pads im a big fan of this one, the detailing on its nose ring is terrific. great attention to detail good sir. the bicep guard looks wholly functional and realistic as well. like something from lacrosse pads.
Damn How I didnt see your entry before.Really nice anatomy.
I like shoulderpad details, but demons eyes may have a bit more agressife look.
Keep it up gav,gogogogo....
Mop, Ged, Suprore, r4ptur3, conte, kite, Wicked-J, Aravindan, indian_boy: Thanks! glad your liking him so far
woogity, JFletcher: Thanks guys, I usually find myself struggling with armor designs as a lot of the work I have done is organic sort of monsters, "regular" people or armored up guys with a solid concept provided...glad you're liking it so far!
kipiripi: Cheers dude, I'll be sure to change up those eyes
Alright, another small update...been working on the forearm area and reworked the bicep/tricep guards. Let me know if you think this was a mistake or not, hehe, once I did the forearm like this it started to make the upper arm look like it belonged to a totally different person...I think by doing this it sort of ties it all together even if it doesn't physically connect and such. I "think" I'm going to rework the elbow so that it overlaps that forearm guard and curves in, design it like a crown on that skull on the back of his arm. It could help pop out where the elbow is intended to be and help break up the silhouette a little
For the gauntlet I'm planning on another demon head where the fingers are made out to look like sharp teeth...Stay tuned for that!
AimBiz, Ferg: Thanks! hope you like the latest version (thoug,h it's equally less functional, mos tlikely hehe)
orpheus, Belltann, muppet man, gavku, r4ptur3: Thanks, glad you're liking him so far.
Slum: Haha, I've always said Doom is why I make games...any tribute to that (even unintentional) is fine by me
casey: hahaha
A quick update tonight. I've been rethinking this forearm piece, I really don't think the last version, as happy as I was with it, was pushing what I could do. I think I played it safe and strayed a little from the original thumbnail...I wanted to try out something "new" with him, more in the vein of the thumbnail, and give him a giant "Hand O' God"...for all of his clericy needs. I'm happy with how it's turning out, I'll most likely move on to his other body armor tonight / tomorrow and keep tweaking it globally until calling the HP "finished"
Edit> Oh, also changed his proportions and chub a little once i put the gauntlet on.
I think this works better because of his proportions. The original was a bit too "normal" Does the bicep piece not fit anymore? I think it would look cool if it does

chains could use a little bit of love, too blocky whereas the rest of the model comes off as sharp.
perhaps something like this, with some mean spiky bits:

EDIT:
oh, my bad i apologize, you said the chains were placeholder
Don't you thing his leg won't will able support overall body.

Props to ya bro.
Real good model. A little cartoon, just the subtle thing to make him awesome.
The giant hand is pushing this model into the realm of supreme awesomeness!!!
