Something new from me. Some future speed racer chick thing . Still a lot to do, hands look terrible so far, ankles look odd too, suit is just a plain mesh so far, will add cloth details now and just notice the neck looks too long. Anyway, it was a good excuse to model some Onitsuka Tiger shoes (I have shoes as one of the hardest things to model):
Those proportions are really weird, Vitor. And not in a "cool, stylized weird" kind of way. It just looks like she's some sort of poor disfigured person. The arms are incredibly thin, the legs are posed in a very uncomfortable looking way, the head size and proportions are strange too.
Generally feels very wobbly, it's like she has no bones or something.
so finally I managed to finish Mafia during my summer holiday /yeah I suck but they better not put a fu**n racing level in Mafia 2 :poly117: :poly124:/,
and then made this guy. kinda a mixture of the don and Paulie.
i'd like to see a bit of subtly applied to the musculature. add some fat to that body, smooth out the anatomical definitions in his torso.
throat is too thin, and the sternocleidomastoids [i think that's what they're called!] look wrong, they shouldn't bow away from each other towards the clavicles like you have them. the trapezius shouldn't be so abrupt, like a wall of muscle. head is too large and the penis is underdeveloped!
A lot of really nice work fellas. So much inspiration in here.
Here a a few things i'm working on at the moment. Please give me some c&cs if you can. This is a mini environment i'm doing for the portfolio. I know this building may stand out to most of you, i'm trying to modernize it a little bit but still trying to keep an antique 40's-50's era style and not look like it's been riddled with bullets:
Thanks a lot!
Pretty big windows man, in comparison to the stairs, but that might be a design thing (make sure to make that obvious with textures if thats the case.)
Id like to see a little more design on the buildings forms but thats a secondary thing really, texture job could scream 40's/50's just as good.
Erm technically I just wonder why so many quads on that stair case? I'd definitely seek to optimise that
Oh and helpful hint that I learnt off here - the rise of a step is normally smaller than the tread, it makes stairs easier to climb (but of course you can get some horrendously steep staircases too.)
Keep it up though man! interested in where this building will go, its not a sci fi concept ^__^
Lancer update:
wondered what itd look like with some genuine UE3 Post processing
Subway almost done. left is UE3, right is xnormal (which is the lighting setup I want to match in UE3. Something about this screams out for a sunrise/sunset type of lighting.)
Bloody smoothing errors Doing glass effects still so thats a stand-in.
thatnumpty - that's a sweet mecha! that gun looks a bit boltery though, maybe something more attenuated would suit the design?
been slacking off a bit on personal stuff, here is a quicky of wayne barlowe's decurion demon. it's not really a 100% likeness of the painting, I think i might make him a different rank entirely so i can play around with costume and distortion of the limbs
Great job Kite. Caught between wanting to see a high res version to admire the craftsmanship, and not wanting to have that demon burned too deeply into my mind
He might have done well to mention it, though. I didn't recognise it, and thought he had just improved a lot. Even if the original author of that texture gave him full reigns to use it as his own, he still should have made it clear enough.
i already said that , unfotiunately im starting to like the model, so i have to make my own texture, sorry for spelling mistakes im drunk atm
.. öhh, i said it in the texture tag tread... damn, my fault... sorry
that's brilliant Tacit, love that knurly anatomy and the head is ace, he kind of reminds me of the shiftlett bros work
thanks for the feedback and comments guys
almighty-gir - a lot of barlowe's inferno characters have these odd jutting/shifting bones on their faces, i guess that's what i was thinking there. Might look better with a web of petrified muscle fiber over it though
Sectaurs : Thanks alot for the good advice! Still not finished, but getting closer. This is just for practice anyway

Trying to get started with some sculpting, far from finished, all crits are most welcome.

he's getting there, though!
Awesome, I've been meaning to model that for years myself!

updating something old, still need to break up the repetition a little bit more. any other suggestions?
O_O
this rules!
thats the point
.
low poly and sauce :
Nice model!
But i think i recognize that texture from somewhere!
reeeeally digging his big pointy fused-fingery goodness on the little hand

But... this is not the texture tag thread so you should mention it.
Everything ok now

Frog Assassin
Other characters include Pirate Walrus, Knight Bear and Catfish Samurai.
Want to kick the crap out of today's youth cartoons. Ben 10, Naruto, and that other garbage.
Speaking of frogs..... Or toads in my case, redoing a character of mines.

Only uses a diffuse & a normal texture right now. Little bit of extraneous stuff to fix.
Going to look into a subdermal scatter fake next.
Ideed right Tumerboy, I'll post it grey shaded on the next time. Sorry for that

Hey frisco I remember that character man. The Zbrush version looks pretty nice so far. Do you plan on adding a lot of detail for the skin?
