Ruz: to be honest the shading and lighting is horrible, it makes it impossible to read, yes it is recognizbly him. But man, you can't even really see that it is too waxy thanks to that horrible fake rimlight, that somehow interacts with parts of his face where it physically just can't be. It looks like a cheap gamey rimlight shader, not a rimlight cast by an actual lightsource.
Worked on a tiling ground texture, painted in Blender, and a turn table for displaying karts on top of. Would make for a good pedestal or models too I guess, it's texture is just a baked matcap and some AO.
arcitecht - thanks, your dude is coming along nice too
Cheers Neox, pleased you hate it:). I think it looks ok for now in terms of likeness and when I have finished the texture I will work more on the shader/lighting set up.
I was just 'really' pleased to have nailed the actual likeness, the finish and polish I will work on next.
Amazing work guys! @airage: that P22 looks really sick! Great work!
Inspired by this awesome thread I couldnt resist to try this amazing Gears of War stuff myself...
Just pure practice so I didnt design stuff myself...orginal authors of the models I used designs from are Kevin Johnstone, Paul Svoboda and Paul Mandegarian!
@Akira I really like what you did right there very nice detail work!
Starting to work on a Jinx (league of legends) fan art. very early wip at the moment.
This is my first post within a 'what are you working on?' thread even though iv been looking at them regularly for years now. Always been an inspiring source for me and thought it was about time I started to contribute.
Another model for ye! Has nothing to do with pirates though. I was just concepting out a basic alien and I decided to run with it for a day or so. I wanted to shoot for an alien cop. I have been watching a lot of Almost Human, which is J.J. Abrahams new show on FOX. Even though there arent any aliens in it I did like the main characters outfit so I decided shoot for something super similar to that. Didnt really know what to do with the back of the head so I just kept messing with it. I am still not happy with it, but I figured Id keep trying new designs on seperate layers. Wrinkles for clothing need a ton of work and it isnt as polished as Id like it to be, but all in all he was a fun project. Need to get back to my other sculpts for now, but I will post more of this guy in time.
This is a small game inspired by the old Track & Field that I'm doing together with a friend. I'm doing the art, he's working the code.
We're going for a NES-look and I'm not really happy with it yet... Something is a bit off, I'm guessing a few colors are to saturated and also, atm I'm using more then 16 colors on screen at once *_* Please let me know I you get something to say/criticise
So much awesomeness on here and over on Gameartisans for Comicon Challenge 2014. Here is my entry over there. Pretty much done with the hires, time to move on to retopo and UVs.
The high-poly wip of my new Star Wars' scene. I ended the interior stage and now I want to add R2D2. Also I would like to make C-3PO and Princess Leia but I don't know if I will be able to do all of them (especially the Princess...). All comments and helpful criticism welcome
@Araiel, really really nice. As soon as I saw the render I just recognised it from Star Wars. Good job on keeping to the reference. Only critique, I might be wrong but the floor should be more glossy. But I might be wrong. But other than that. Awesome.
