Interesting that someone posted some Harry Potter stuff at the top of the page, I had a go at making one of the wooden wall panel things from the great hall in nDo2. Think the wood needs a bit more grain to it, though.
I am a student making the change from Communication and Multimedia to 3D. I don't have a lot of experience, but this is my first full piece and the first piece of 2014 so I thought I'd post it here. I am currently working on my portfolio to try to get an internship so I'll be posting here a bit.
I just want to say amazing thread, I am getting so inspired and it just keeps coming.
Really nice work! what engine did you use?
I particularly like the floor and the light haze/glare.
My only critique is that in that the yellow criss cross floor plates look like the spec for the raised part needs to be ajusted to give it a bit more depth. Possibly make those areas scratched or more warn too as the paint looks fairly even atm.
taka! tora! batta! tatoba tatoba! just kidding, its another guyver gigantic progreess ,
i got addicted too much playing around with marmoset render, gotta continue finishing this guy ...
Haven't done any work in a long time. So I decided to create a simple asset to get back into the groove and practice the physically based workflow. Concept from Dust 514
I like the idea of the scene but I feel there's too much sky in your composition. I think you either need the have the hill be taller (and the viewer looking upwards at the house from the gate), or the house needs to be larger. Looking good though!
@ njackson4190: I really love those palm tree shadows (among many other things). Amazing work!
@ michael milano, rambooze, Optinium, Cint128: Thank you all SO MUCH for your kind words!
@ Cint128: I've used the CryEngine. With regard to the yellow floor plates: I agree. Those elevations could've been accentuated more. Maybe even made them stand out with some POM displacement.
hey whats up been working on this skeleton warrior for almost a week now. I am happy with my progress. Need to fix his should blades and make them bigger and straighter and need push his head back refine the back of his head give it more volume.
Wow, I don't think i've ever seen anyone wrangle as much lowpoly in Zbrush as that before. It's really impressive. Any tips or rules of thumb you use when working with geo that low to keep it from exploding/imploding.
A treasure chest I've been working on. The metal is incomplete, spent a majority of time on the wood. Might finish it up sometime. Comments & criticism more than welcome!
This is the best thread ever!! I'm new to this world and a lurker too. I'm currently working on a 2D to 3D logo right now. Polycount is an inspiration.
