Have you tried exporting from Modo to UDK? I've been having some trouble myself... I really prefer Modo as a modeling / texturing application to Max/Blender/whatever but I can't seem to export it properly.
I haven't got a fully fluid pipeline yet ... I tend to have to use Max to fix up and finalize the smoothing groups. Other than that, it seems to work OK, exporting to FBX...
@gillmeister74: thanks man! @toxic_h20: that house has so much character! Love the style. @pixelb: seems like a solid first post for the new year. Overall really cool character. I do wish the wings had more of an irradescent look to them. They seem a little flat next to the body. @swizzle: this looks promising. looking forward to it.
Working on wrapping this up. This is a first pass at a final image. I've been tweaking the lighting and the shaders for the past day. It's getting closer to where I want it.
I wasnยดt paying too much attention to the geometry and UV layout at the beginning - I just wanted to make something so I could have some fun with texturing asap.
I know there was room for optimization and im by no means too good at this, i'm still struggling with normal map baking and smoothing groups.
The idea is to add it to Left 4 Dead 2 and weapons in the game seems to always be 1500 polys so i went with all possible detail by keeping the handdle a bit high poly..
Taking a break from some stuff I was working on and made this in zbrush, rendered in Modo. Lighting in Modo is so much fun thanks to the interactive previewer. Low poly is on the way.
I understand that the turret is off the list of models needed for Wasteland 2, but I am still working on it. Due to my schedule I only have so much time to work on 3D stuff. Critiques and Suggestions welcome and much appreciated.
Working on the face for a fem character for a Mass Effect contest. Here's a BPR render out of ZBrush with a little touch up for how I plan to apply the makeup and skin detail.
Any crit would be appreciated! I have been wrestling with this face for days.
First post on polycount too I've been lurking here for ages. I can't wait to start becoming part of the community.
I started a sketchbook here: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=115144 of random topics for 2 hour sculpt and paint sessions..the suggestion from a friend for today was "Mars Vegetation" I spent 3 hours and I am pretty sure methane is not baby blue..oh well...I call it a methane sprout.
@meathead - Yup it's an old abandoned theme park, it was closed in 2002 but I believe they started to demolish it last year.
There's some pretty neat images of the park online if you google it. http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dadipark
I wanted to do some kind of abandoned theme park since I watched the movie Hanna, there's something really cool about abandoned places like this.
this thread looks awesome allready, cant wait to see what else 2013 will bring!! this is a speedmodel I did for render practicing. about an hours work incl. rendering
Made this my little pony girl a while back to get her printed and she finally arrived over Christmas . I love 3D printing! This is a test rendering and below a photo of the actual print out. More images can be found on the product page on shapeways. Unfortunately her little finger broke off during transport, but otherwise the model came out great!
That looks really cool. I was wondering if you would be willing to share how much it cost to print that? Iv'e been interested in 3D printing something but don't know about the cost. I know their site has prices from different materials in cubic units, but I have been looking for a real world example to put it in some context. Thank you, and great looking model!
scapulator: Looks great! You should make your own thread for that guy!
zeezee: Love the finals. Esp love how you made some hair sticking out like that. Wicked!
bluPanda: Looks pretty sweet. Dam_std that nostril! Its an early wip so im sure youll work it out.
Finally done!!

@serriffe: Cheers! It's a slightly altered method of X-Convict's shader from this thread. I couldn't refer to the original material as the link isn't working anymore.
@Samuel: Thank you. The lurking is a combination of lack of confidence and being a total perfectionist and thinking sopmething is not quite ready, something which I'm going to sort out this year...with the help of you guys I hope

1524 triangles. You can also view it in realtime here
Handle looks very nice, but 1500 seems a bit high. GOt some wires?

With Anthony Jones releasing an art book, I had to do something with his tool presets.
