I really like this and how it's turning out. I hope you'll show some exaggerated details, like you did with the stitching on the hat, with the clothes. It looks like you have slightly two different styles going on with the character. Maybe repeating the big stitching in the clothes to balance it out.
Can't wait to see more progress on this
You're quite right actually! I started off with a few different reference images when I started on the head and hat, and shifted over to a few others as I progressed onwards. I'll be sure to try and balance out those details.
@ crazyfool:
Epic entry! I love the pose and your idea for presentation. Awesome cloth sculpts as well. I wish you the best of luck for the competition.
I've finished this tonight. Some post apocalyptic facility. Started this as a speed paint after work and spent some additional hours on this.
I didn't have my glasses on when looking at this, and I thought it was a cryengine scene. Iwas trying to see repetition on those holes and stuff haha. really cool llighting !
oh man really? yeah Anthony told me a friend of his is also modeling one of his concepts!
Awesome render btw! cant believe this is marmoset?! really impressive
I've seen the concept you're working from and I think you'll have an easier time on your scene if you set up the field of view for the camera to be a bit closer to that in the original.
[In UDK, select the camera > press F4 > alter "FOV Angle"]
Edit: (I can't for the life of me find the original concept, as the artist's page, http://www.voidart.co.uk/ is no longer there).
amazing stuff everyone
Azkur - that wee beasties awesome
Heres my twisted horror entry for zbrushcentral. everything made and rendered in zbrush (except the head which is an old base mesh, but zremeshed early on for better res) then composited in photoshop. Wish I had more time and wasn't dieing of flu haha!!!!
Kinda making some changes to this girl. I never got to use her in a project. I'm thinking this will be the main model moving forward for a beta test project for Marmoset2, scifi piece with a focus on materials and the rendering. Excited.
However I'm not sure if it's the best course, as the project might get involved with a possible civil-war type thing moving forward, not sure how those guys/gal would feel about it...
@Korgoth
Yeah I'm adding my layer, the arms are REALLY too short. On real people, when the arms are along the body, the wrists should reach the bottom of the pelvis and the hands the middle of the thighs.
But if I remember well, Brink characters are almost ape like, so I guess it won't hurt to have them a little longer than in real life.
But aside from that, really nice work !

This is a character from Sky Pirates I made last week.
Ok. Really. This is freakin incredible!
I do want to ask. It looks like you set up your face with a couple extra bits of geometry. Specifically I'm noticing right on the bottom corner of the eye you have a sort of diamond shape, and I'm curious what it's there for. Based on the quality of the model, I'm making the assumption it's serving a very specific purpose, yes?
Think I'm almost done with the modelling portion of this project. I need to figure out some odds and ends here and there, and possibly change the hat, but overall I'm loving how its turned out.

nice! but .. well .. the arms are a bit short!?
Very nice details, but he actually reads like a midget with those arms..
