I've been working on this model for these last few days! based on a concept by Anthony Jones. Oh man i'm just happy im done with the highpoly. I still want to do a lowpoly and put it in the cryengine:D
Hand painted rock texture. Had an absolute blast doing this.
Looks great but I think it could benefit from a little mnore contrast between the creases and the rest of the rock. It is a bit too subtle at the moment.
That's a good start and the modeling is nice and clean, but man, you have to get rid of those render clouds or whatever you're using for the wood flooring. It is extremely noticeable and takes away from the rest of your scene.
WIP: Styalised hand painted low poly viking windmill thing made from the wreckage of their boats. I've only made a few of the diffuse textures and these few models so far. What do people think?

Hey thanks man, I'll work on that and post and update soon. I appreciate the crit.
Still haven't addressed the cloth around his neck. I wanted to get the hands done before messing around with anything else. I've never been too good with hands, but I am rather happy with how they came out.
amazing stuff everyone
Azkur - that wee beasties awesome
Heres my twisted horror entry for zbrushcentral. everything made and rendered in zbrush (except the head which is an old base mesh, but zremeshed early on for better res) then composited in photoshop. Wish I had more time and wasn't dieing of flu haha!!!!
@ crazyfool:
Epic entry! I love the pose and your idea for presentation. Awesome cloth sculpts as well. I wish you the best of luck for the competition.
I've finished this tonight. Some post apocalyptic facility. Started this as a speed paint after work and spent some additional hours on this.

I really like this and how it's turning out. I hope you'll show some exaggerated details, like you did with the stitching on the hat, with the clothes. It looks like you have slightly two different styles going on with the character. Maybe repeating the big stitching in the clothes to balance it out.

Looots more to do, sorry for large image.
jestersheepy: That boat is looking really great man!
[HP]: Looks awesome!
Here is a new pixel from me with a WIP gif:
Peace
Goodness, I love this with every fiber of my being. Such a clean piece of art.
I love how most of the noise is in the spec of the metal, instead of the diffuse.
I'd love to see the lighting set-up.

As always great stuff here!
Any suggestions before I go into 3D?

Here's something I worked on a while back for a heroclix sculpt. Modeled/sculpted in max and zbrush, rendered in mental ray and comp'd in PS.
This is a "sunday funday sketch" I decided to render.
Hey thanks man, I'll work on that and post and update soon. I appreciate the crit.
Hey thanks dude! Yeah most of it is photoshop over a zbrush sculpt. Posted a bunch of WIP images over in my sketchbook. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=125226
