Freaking double post, this forum is so slow to me when posting stuff-.- Literally took me ages to get it up, and it creates a double, yay!
Ahh I can just use this double post for something good, meh.
Ysalex, I would say to go with C. I think it gives your work more of a creepy feeling than any of the other options. And I love how the light in C makes her expression more panicked.Just my voice in the whole.
And to the rest of the WAYWO thread, it is AMAZING! Keep it up people
Mate the painted metal looks so slick !
I'm really curious how you got that look, did you paint it in a 3d app, or just straight in PS ?
Tbh I feel the wood is a bit bland and doesn't do justice to the rest of the piece.
Wood I feel is a bit bland, I usually like to break it up with a few dark-red & bright-yellow, reddish shadow underneath, and yellow highlight on top.
Anyway just my 2 cents, good stuff !
Cheers buddy.
Thanks for the comment and suggestion, I was just stretching my hand painting skills for those two pieces. As for the metal I just built up layers of grey and cool blue taking into account light bouncing here and there in Photoshop. Then I added an overlay layer on top of that with a neutral grey. Using the burn and dodge tool I added in additional detail such as some minor lighting and shadow. I suggest you should give it a go as the results are can be excellent.
As for the wood it was a place holder with a little mix of colour because I hate seeing block colours when I'm texturing but in the new updated image below you can see the wood texture I've added but thanks for the suggestion about the dark red, I'll give that a go and see what the results are like.
The face has always been my weakest area so I'm trying to do a portrait study a day right now. Feeling happy with this one, a well known actor but from his early years. Hope he's recognisable.
I'm modelling a tiger tank to put in the old folio. I've pretty much finished the turret and treads. Does anybody think they can spot the mistakes I've found? :P
Modelled in modo btw. I'm absolutely in love with pixar subdivisions and the modo renderer. There's so much going on the scene and my laptop hasn't had any problems at all. If I was using max it would be crapping out all over the place.
some more progress on my Humvee !
also i found this website. contains almost infinite hi res pictures of military vehicles, weapons, uniform and much more things ! worth it to check it out !
Just a little something i've been working on for class. Not the best resolution i know, images taken from screen cap instead of render... yeah i know, stupid on my part. I will however, be adding armor to this guy. so full res renders will be up when that is underway.
so much awesome stuff here makes me feel so lazy xD

Mmmmmm those creases, fantastic work dude! Could do with a bit more weight in the butt, underarm and top back. But looking mighty slick!
That looks fantastic! What is WM?
still pretty rough, trying to get the likeness right.

Ok I'm calling this one done - far from perfect, I know, but damn me if I touch it again :poly118: It was a good lesson either way.
Started messing around with a sphere and ended up here..
With decimation master plugin and 3ds max re-topo tools i'd keep going maybe..
