too lazy to start a thread just for this.. in udk. overlay diffuse needs some color work, but i'm happy with the height. onto detail texture polish, buildings and foliage.
Hey guys, thought I'd might share some of the images from the UDK environment scene I believe I have finished? Or at least come close to Why is the stuff here always so mindblowing-ly awesome? Cross post from my thread: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=119834
Made this for my portfolio. I'd love to get some critiques on it!
Also just realized I forgot to show off the specular power (aka: gloss) in my texture breakdown because it was in the alpha channel of the specular... Oops!
Final Update! 4860 Tri's per door, with 2k textures (why not? Its a portfolio piece).
Calling the textures good enough, working on the scene that will go around it. Might re-visit the door textures later. Too much time looking at it and changing things around to do anything incredibly productive on it right now lol. I want to make walls and floors for this bad boy!
I really like what you've done with Link.. it looks Fantastic.. Very NEXT GEN i would love to see your wire frame and Diffuse/Normal Maps Please Post them with this Character
Fightpunch: dude i need to find a way to bottle your creativity and take it to market, your killing it with this Substrata stuff... also my personal work station will be back up at the end of the month... "and my axe!"
It depends, that crabby looking one was around an hour, just cos I knew where I was going with it from the very start. If im designing as I go it can take a lot longer and as a consequence it then starts to look more tightly rendered and I lose interest

Here's another bust of a girl from yesterday:

Cross-post from my first CE3 level thread.
The main wall in the level. Did a bake just so the back face would have some good details, just in case it shows up through the pipes.
And the game-ready version I'm working on
Just finished working on a 3d environment inspired by The Last Of Us with a friend
This Thread has a few more images and a technical breakdown
Can't wait for the game to come out!
What do you think ?
Also just realized I forgot to show off the specular power (aka: gloss) in my texture breakdown because it was in the alpha channel of the specular... Oops!
GODDAMMMNNN I LOVE IT! So clean and nice
Last update for this guy...for now

Texturing should be hopefully fairly easy since I modeled on all the wrinkles and details like that.
here is some progress on my mercenary dude texturing
This is really nice
Is the exaggerated eyes makup part of the style? If no, I think you should make it less invasive, something like this:
First time using turbosmooth to create a high poly model, quite interesting.
Do please ignore the texture stretching, it's still something I need to work on
forgive my ignorance, but what exactly IS 'Substrata?' I'm seeing that word on all sorts of amazing art atm, with no idea why.

The skin is looking awesome! Very impressive work, congratulation !!
Chris (Katana), the model sits at around 22k tris.
How long does it take you to crank out one of these things...judging by the brushstroke, they look very quick.

If you have any advice or critique for me I'd be happy to hear them.
*One glance at Ysalex's post.. opens personal work folder > Select all > click > drag > recycle bin*
I derped about with some quick skin, perhaps abit too heavy around the eyes tho, she needs some sleep
Fightpunch I love the theme your going with on all these funky muthas
