You guys are all beasts! Hopefully one day I will be able to create art at this high caliber.
I finished my first game character. Went through a lot of revisions, especially the rig took a long time to learn how to do it properly, but it was exciting to see her finally run around in UDK!
Hey Rogelio, looking like a great model and texture, but the presentation is lacking (in my opinion). The noisy background distracts me from your model, and also the photographic nature of it makes me feel like it's out of place in a realtime piece.
The text is also very distracting for some reason, but that might just be me - the colors and font choice etc. just make it seem very cartoony, which given the realistic nature of the piece seems like a strange combination.
Obviously, just style stuff and design opinion oriented, but good model otherwise.
Hi everyone, sharing my finished environment and some work in progress for it. Finished it in one month, used one 1024x1024 texture for Diffuse , Normal and Specular and one 512x512 for Moss.
For more views and information I will be updating this thread showing textures and my approach to this environment creation.
After some great feedback from fellow polycounters, I think I've officially wrapped up this project. Excited to take what I learned onto the next! Here's the final result:
Hopefully get him rigged up and ready for animating tomorrow. Its nice having a break from the super kid-friendly cartoony game I've been working on for over a year (Nick and Jane for iOS)
Love this Zombie my only thing I think would be nice if the pink infected areas were a lot brighter and stood out a bit from the skin tone. Other than that pal good work!
@Simmo, looking great man, but I love the theme of all that rounded metal and darker colors, almost like a BSG, Star-Trek crossover. Makes me sad that I'll never get to ride a luxury space-cruiser. Looking forward to updates.
@Zeno, obviously a lot of work went into this, details looking great. Looking forward to seeing a shaded render. What are you rendering in?
I did this gutted camera model over the course of several lunch breaks - just an exercise in hard surface modeling. I posted the OBJ of this mesh over in the "How you model dem shapes?" thread if anyone wants to take a closer look.
Lots of great work here.
Fisherman:
Concept found in my old reference library. But don't know the original concept artist. If some know please let me know.Done some changes from my side. Now thinking for suitable pose and some more props.
Thanks.

That's an intense cage. There renders show what looks like some pinching on the smooth areas of the body exterior. It's hard to tell how much of it is reflections in the material since the sub-d mesh looks so clean.

Yea I think that is a consequence of the reflections in the shader. There is though a bit of pinching in places - if you want take a look at the OBJ and post some areas you think could have been modeled better in the "How you model dem shapes thread". Would be interesting to see different methods used for solving the same modeling problems.
MM: Beautiful work, both artistically and technically!
marrakech: Awesome, so much personality and a effective use of fibermesh cool.
ENODMI: So pretty, do you plan on adding some more color variation to the clothes? Also tiny nickpick, her eyes look red like she needs some eyedrops

Holy shit. You should do time lapses of your modeling process sometime.
Started working on this last week, she'll have a jacket and boots and such, will post the concept sketch once I have a thread up, but in the mean time.
-gilesruscoe: I love those heads! Nice work, very cool and dynamic shapes!
Heyya,
I have never posted here before in the WAYWO thread, but I have admired all the excellent work that goes up here, and all the learning that people show here as well. I'm so excited to have something to post here.
So here is something that I have been working on for a while.
It is my own concept, sculpted from scratch and painted completely in Zbrush.
I hope that isn't too many images for one post...
Any crits or comments would be greatly appreciated.
Finally got some shots of the print of my sculpt of Bliss from Cryamore!
Shes 9.5 inches tall, hopefully the next update will see her all painted up! Super stoked with the guys at Ownage, they nailed the print and the assembly!

ENODMI, she's looking really nice so far, like the subtle details in the bionic hands.
Simmo - nice start, hope you make a wip thread for this so we can see more!
Here's a quick crosspost shot from my environment thread, worked on my specular pass

Sculpting pass done, next up: texturing!
Wow, Simmo, I'm really loving the shapes in here. It's designed like the interior of an airplane; looks very believable, and refreshingly unique.
I made a rice-sack for a scene I'm working on:
flames are just a paint over atm, hoping to get a nice particle system going..
