when modeling a character for animation do I model there weapons in the same file as the character or do I make a separate model and import it? My programs of choice are akeytsu and iclone7 if that helps any. I'm new to both programs so I'm still learning how to use them. I'm just looking for a push in the right direction
What does model sheet for environment look like? I found lots of T-pose character model sheets, but how should I draw model sheets for an out door environment? If I am building it modularly, do I need to draw "front" and "side" view of a chunk of rock that will be turned around and flipped sideways?
Im intermediate at 3d modeling but self taught so this might sound like a silly question. I see models in the 60,000 polycount range and lower but the texture resolution on them is so sharp and clear. So is it possible to have a model that is 60,000 polys wrapped with a texture that is say 4K?
so here it is, my first real step into character modelling, so far im nailing down the concept and the model will follow within the week once i read some tutorials on zsphere modelling :) be as critical as you guys want since id love some useful feedback. Thanks! josh
Hello guys. This is my first post.I am developing a 3d model for my portfolio, I would like your help to improve, general tips for improving the model. I decided to show the development from the beginning to get the most tips before moving on to the sculpture stage. Thanks in advance. :D model
Hello folks! I'm currently a student who just modeled my first gun for a class assignment. I went ahead a posted it below on here to get some feedback. I didn't concern myself with the polycount for this. I still fairly new with modeling and would love to get some advise from more experienced modelers :)
I just posted a model up on a facebook group for critique and a guy asked me if he could have the model for free. I'm not sure how to approach it, whats peoples stance on giving away models? Should I say no, upload it on turbosquid and say he can find it there?
I am trying to re-skin a model for a game. Since this is a mod I don't have access to the high poly model but I have the normal map. When I try and bake the AO map I am getting some weird shadows on the model.
Just wondering If anyone could help me. I have to model a series of bags for a university project and have no idea where to start. This is what I had in mind: A bag on TurboSquid and the order 1886 bags done by Alec Moody: http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-model---nike-club-team/683067
I've been making models for games on and off for some time now, but I'm wondering if there are some resources out there for more efficient workflows. What would be the fastest way to create models for games from modeling, UV layout, texturing, etc. I'm more interested in props than characters or anything else.
