I am trying to re-skin a model for a game. Since this is a mod I don't
have access to the high poly model but I have the normal map. When I try
and bake the AO map I am getting some weird shadows on the model.
A lot of our bakers can work without a high-poly mesh. It would help if you could give more information. In which software are you trying to bake ? What does those weird shadows look like ?
I am using Substance Painter (just realised I didn't mention that - oops). I have included some images here. The "Existing AO map" is the one already applied to he model in-game. Because I am going to alter the geometry a bit I will need to bake new a AO map eventually. Thanks.
