Is there a way to have these dialogue boxes default to "Yes" so i dont have to keep clicking or pressing enter? I'm a spline noob, but I thought I'd give it a go with the surface modifier to see if it'll be good for creating quick low res meshes.
Is there a script that can replace/overwrite the base object when re-importing an FBX file into 3dsmax so that the modifiers stack remains? MODO has such an option. But how would you script it in 3dsmax? How does 3dsmax know which object is which?
Hi Polycount, I was wondering if there was a way of getting around having to select each layer/bone individually every time I want to select the bones to add to a skin modifier? I'm fairly sure that you used to be able to select the collapsed biped and it would automatically add all of the bones . Thanks in advance.

I'm not talking about the straight up boolean functions, as they all cause chunks to get cut out of the geometry or modify the shape of the objects. all I want are edges cut into the geometry wherever the two objects intersect am I missing a tool or is there some script I can use?

Hi, Working with max here. I have all the points welded for a particular object. Normals on some faces are flipped and some are not. Using simple grass wind for curtain movements, I noticed the wind intensity moves the curtain in the y axis direction, is there a way to modify the curtain intensity movement in the X axis direction. I am currently studying the nodes that are inside the simple grass wind. Any idea where this can be changed?
Ive been pulling my hair out tring to render 'alpha channels' through the 'projection modifier' in 3dsmax8, I need to render diffuse textures from 'high poly models' which have some alpha channeled materials within the 'high poly models'. any help would be awesome cheers
