MarcoAntonio Hmmm, that's pretty interesting... How do you "place" the clouds in your case? For me it's important to be able to have clouds in certain positions, which is also I've noticed may not be so easy with volumetric clouds
this is the first time i've even heard of lenticular clouds, but i could beleive that they hide alien ships. http://www.crystalinks.com/thegates.html this picure is from the link justin posted, it has nothing to do with clouds, but does anyone else see the ghost dog face? i saw it when i clicked the link regarding the…
I made a simple cloud cover texture in substance designer with an emissive for the cloud rim lighting/ backlight and an opacity for the more sparse areas. (Please let me know if I'm going about this the wrong way! Basically trying to get a stormy sky in UE4). My emissive issue seems to be stemming from the sampler type?…
I need a point cloud from a friend to get into my 3ds max. He uses agisoft photoscan which is able to export point clouds into many formats, but sadly none is compatible with 3ds max. 3ds Max allows to import only rcs and rcp format which is from autodesk recap (which i do not own and it isnt free AFAIK). So i want to…
Currently I'm trying to use distant clouds and a very dark high fog to try and achieve a soild overcast look. I was just wondering if anyone had a better method, or had some tips, etc? My goal is for asperatus clouds at sunset, kinda like this: except the sun is peeking out from underneath.
Is there a way to make a cool looking fake shadow effect from for my translucent clouds hovering over earth? Or can I only use the opacity mode to get cool cloud shadows? My scene is completly dynamic so no baked light whatsoever. Any input would be great:)
Maybe I'm biased since I worked on it but you should see the clouds & skyboxes in Pirate101. There are some great cartoony clouds and skyboxes, it's F2P and you get to fly some airships pretty early. (they are mostly static clouds but the vortex portals to other zones are pretty nifty looking)
Does anyone know of method to use the kinect sensor to capture static point cloud data that can be used in 3dsmax as reference? I have worked with point cloud data from the leica scanners in the past and after looking at some kinect tech demos it seems like there should be a way to adapt the data to do something similar…
Issue: Taking over a day to create a simple model. Every tutorial I have seen has taken 40 minutes to an hour. Either their computers are from the year 4825 or I'm doing something wrong. It's most likely he latter. Granted my resolutions higher but my bake is taking over 24 hours. That's beyond disproportional. I admit I…
I'm currently working on an animated background for a game which would include painterly clouds forming into a spiral in the style of the third image, but I'm still very far away from the desired result. The way I'm doing it now is twisting a tube into a pointed spiral and using a displace modifier with a voronoi texture…
