I saw some examples how to bake material from Zbrush into texture from hipoly model on it's lowest subdivision level here http://sebleg.free.fr/tutorials/zbaking.html But I need to do the same trick only with my new retopologed model : (low poly model already has UV coordinates) Any ideas how to do it ? :D
Hey, guys. I recently had to make a low poly bandana out of a cloth simulation. I spent a while scratching my head at how I was going to retopologize and bake something that was folding over itself with tons of wrinkles, before I came up with this method. Hope it helps someone else out there. Software used: Maya, XNormal
Hello people i just heard that people started using round shader for baking normal maps on hard surface. Since it would simplify the process greatly, i would like to use it as well, but i can't find any info about it. Does anyone have links to share? Where to find such shader, what is the pipe? Thank you.
Dear community i would like do know if its possible to bake a high poly plane to a low one inside , Ive done it flawless in Xnormal but wrap my head around it when it comes to "toolbag". the reason why i wana change over to toolbag is cause it will give me the options for more maps like secular and gloss. ( its mainly used…
Hi I have some problems trying to bake render elements of vray with RTT in 3d max. I choose several vray elements but I can only get 3 of them, vrayrawlightingmap, vrayrawglobalilluminationmap, and vraydiffusefiltermap. This is at high resolution of 2048 but if I try less I can get all of the elements so I figure it's a…
In short, the only way to completely get rid of these errors is using a shader that is using the same tangent basis as the baker. The only one I'm aware of is 3point shader in max using normals baked with max rtt.
I'm trying to bake a simple high and low poly model. I have tried using a cage, and offset. I tried lowering the offset and shrinking the cage to the lowest possible value. It always picks up on geometry in the distance, and I can't figure out why. Is there some sort of setting I need to enable? Area highlighted in red…
Hi guys, newbie here. So I want to create a 3D asset. I want to bake my highpoly mesh to lowpoly. After baking, I tried the baked result to lowpoly, but why does the result have edges like this in the lowpoly mesh? (Highpoly mesh) (Lowpoly Mesh) Result
A recently released tutorial covering another texturing workflow. This recent release from 3dmotive features instructor Galen Davis, or Darkmaster as he's known around these parts, covering his workflow for creating textures using Zbrush, xNormal and nDo2. He also goes on to show how to view your final model in texture…
Hello i am posting to ask if anyone knows why my envelope is doing this? i have used the advanced options in the baking option but when i scale up the envelope it does not go larger but instead implodes on itself and i do not understand why. Any help would be great as i have been trying to look into this problem but not…
