High Poly Bake/Envelope Problem Maya 2013

Hello i am posting to ask if anyone knows why my envelope is doing this? i have used the advanced options in the baking option but when i scale up the envelope it does not go larger but instead implodes on itself and i do not understand why. Any help would be great as i have been trying to look into this problem but not seen any similar to this.

Looks to me like your face normals might be inside out. To check this, go to your Shading viewport menu, and check on Backface Culling. Alternatively, you can select your object and go to Display > Polygons > Face Normals. For the latter, the little green normal lines should be pointing away from your object, not toward the inside.

@Bartalon thanks for your input but this didn't solve it, i checked all the faces and they are ok and facing the right way as you can see from the image, do you have any other solutions?

Try combining that object with another new one, see if the faces are still going the right direction. Sometimes Maya old viewport hides that stuff if your not using the new viewports.

Also, try deleting the objects history if you haven't already, sometimes messes things up. Can't quite remember under what menu that option is available though.

Ok thank you for your time i have solved this by merging it with another object and now it works fine, thank you!

No problem, Maya has a bug that they just fixed on 2014 about that.
