Hi Guys! I am making a character bust inspired by Horizon Zero Dawn's characters. I want to practice realistic anatomy, texturing, game-ready hair and detailed hard surface modeling (for the decorations, jewelry, etc). The character style I am going for: Image found on Dan Calvert's wonderful Artstation My first WIP: So…
Hi there! (First things first: Sorry for my bad English!) I'm newbie here in Polycount, and starting this last year with 3D stuff. Recently i've learned Maya and Zbrush, so I'm using this summer hollydays to make a small project. I'm sculpting my second or third Zbrush bust and later I want to bake it in low poly when…
Long time lurker, first time poster. (lurked for like 5 years, seriously). Anyway, I made this bust in Mudbox. I'm still getting used to the program but this is my 2nd real sit-down attempt at making a realistic face. I tend to play with 3D Max/PSP/Unrealed etc so I'm kind of winging it most of the time. Any suggestions?…
I did end up figuring this out. Exported the skeletal body mesh from unreal to maya, moved the feet into the heel position with the foot_l/foot_r and ball_l/ball_R bones. From there I copy/transferred the weights from the body mesh to the shoes and moved everything back before exporting just the shoes which were then…
Hey folks, I am doing a Loomis planes study bust, and would truly appreciate a fresh pair of eyes on it. Can someone offer advice on perfecting the head? I am going for simplification and correctness in proportions, using the standard Loomis head. I am aiming to minimize artistic interpretations, but have made some…
Hello folks, I'm new to Polycount and I'm hoping that you might lend me some of your expertise. I've trying to improve my skills with ZBrush by sculpting a female cyberpunk elf character bust, which I intend to 3D print. I don't have much experience in making female characters, and I'm not sure what about the anatomy of my…
Hey everyone! Recently, I took part in a Pierre Benjamin's workshop where my main goal awas to get to know Marvelous Designer and XYZ textures and discover ways of using them in game assets workflow. So I decided to go with the full game-res bust. I learnt some more stuff, like creating eyes with parallax shader, etc. I…
Thanks! That makes sense. For now I’m not trying to make a fully functional live portal to another level. I mainly want to fake the visual depth and make it look closer to the reference. My current setup is pretty simple: * one separate plane/material for the outer ring, * one plane/material for the inner core, * both are…
Heyyyyooo. Recently I've started up a series of single-session likeness busts to improve my eye and speed. And to keep myself going, I chose a subject which interests me greatly - The Big Lebowski. I've been working my way through the principle cast, and looking back I can see improvement already! It's amazing how…
Since i got myself my first 3d printer this very week, cr 10 mini, i decided to try my hands at this comp as a spend few days trying to understand how 3d printing and slicing works. At first i palnned to make full 3d pudge figure but i realized it would take a lot of time and it will be harder to print so i settled on a…
