My cat got very sick. She has to be taken to the vet every day until she gets better because I can't do the treatment alone because its painful for her. Poor little animal. My hearts breaking man.
Today I read about the The Oubliette – ‘Forgotten Chamber’, a caged pit at the bottom of a dungeon which was used to keep prisoners in horrific captivity.
Sometimes lords would starve the victim, or, perhaps if they were unlucky given the circumstances, they would have just enough food and drink thrown down to them to survive dreadfully. This was doubtlessly worse than a swift end as the victim was kept alive for months or even years in the dark, losing one’s sanity. Oubliettes were narrow pits in which the prisoner had little room to do anything but sit there and contemplate the horrendous situation they had found themselves in, and in many cases the latrine overflow would also add an extra element of torture. When they did die, the deceased’s corpse was sometimes left to rot. This would attract vermin, and the presence of rats and a half-devoured and rotting body would act as a brutal addition to the terror inspired by the oubliette when its next victim arrived. As a result, many examples of oubliettes have been discovered with the skeletal remains of an assortment of victims whose bones were never removed from them.
Not sad, but annoyed. Went to the pharmacy this morning. Had to deal with a guy behind the counter who decided to flex the tiniest bit of power at his disposal. Decided to do what HE wanted instead of what his boss told him to do. Got into a heated argument. Ruined my entire mood for the day.
Leaving 3D to study as a programmer. Sad, because I did the wrong choices in my career by hunting money instead of experience. Should have landed in a big studio with less money and had someone that could have acted as a mentor. Instead of Moving so fast and leaving with a bad taste.
"Historic day for Germany: Fascists win the first state election in the history of the Federal Republic - with a regional association that is classified as definitely right-wing extremist. It is the greatest political success for Nazis since the 1930s."

Do you think it's better there?... You'll be back.
Spent decades honing my technical and artistic skillset only to have Gen AI destroy the (perceived and actual) value of anything I can produce in the eyes of management / public. Talk about the mother of all rug-pulls.
i just realised that for the last 5 years all I've actually done in terms of practical work on videogames is parse text files and tell people to remake things according to the budget they were given

It sounds like a solid analytical job ... I hope you were developing in the right direction while working on it.

this is the price you pay for developing in the right direction
Feel like crap: (i am so pissed off, this is bullshit) was testing Artstation and actually wanted some information regarding employment opportunities for artists and am now "ghost" blocked from requesting information for real future employment opportunities for artists, wtf is that bullshit, somethings f-cking going on. (i know the msg is still in cache, there is just no need for what was said, it wont change the direction of what w are in.)
What exactly has happened? It’s unclear from your post. Like:
1. I clicked on this employment ad (url). 2. I clicked on “subscribe”. 3. (list each step) 4. result: A pop up message occurs every time I click a link: “Your account has been _ _ _”.
Note, we’re pretty permissive here, not going to block you as long as you’re not being spammy or waaaay off topic.
Best of luck man, I know the job market is a real pain in the ass right now. Just need to keep a level head, keep at it.
Straight to point, Was planning to get a team together, going straight to the sources and removing the "middle" man, for opportunity for their future employment, (if available). I am aware of prices but wanted each individual's request, i.e. personal and pick and chose based on work/amount/time. I am aware making up studio names/sites, ect is the way to do this and to have them whom are interested and available apply..was taking it slow and basically it would've been the "preliminary-interview".
Upon messaging users on artstation (artists, all kinds) i was met with some message that completely stopped me from continuing. (i block a lot , i did NOT block my own comms to them, i was already typing, and seemingly blocked said (that stopped me) message so it came up "GHOST" or blank so i couldn't see the message (the msg that stopped me from comms), i forgot about this and thought i was silently halted, still read on it does get strange, edit: where is that message coming from anyway, if i allowed artstation? how is that not weird...) I was privately trying to gather a team for the possibility to create a "new" ip or product in the gaming circle.
This has completely took me off from doing this now, idk why messaging users is like pulling teeth.
TLDR; Perhaps it was a bot that snagged similar words and removed my communication privileges, but i did change the message a few times and wasn't really
spammy with it either, it couldn't be. I took my time and added
comments directed at said "chosen" users artworks and what appealed to
me, and via their portfolio piece of work (it was HQ nearly Cinematic models as start) something stopped me. /end TLDR,
Went really slow (dont just agree it was a bot, i highly doubt it.) so when i was stopped i was shocked and the blood boiled and i got upset came here to try to tell the rest of you what just happen & was going on cause that was weird as sh!t to me. Figured i toss in has anyone been messaged for employment on that site? i want average people not S.AAA's but if you want to chime in by all means, though it does take the crap thread topic away. You can p.m. me here if you feel like it about the question, for the record for my past "employment", artstation has NEVER worked, i found employers myself.
Thanks people uhm idk what i will do now, since what i thought was safe and simple (and there was no way i could get upset) turned out to not be that. I know they are dealing with spammer bots but why don't they flag people who have been there of idk, 10+ years, who entered nearly every challenge, was positive to the community here and there and basically everywhere, you would think, let's flag this one as okay he is not going to spam. It isn't privileged to me to suggest this, i hardly use artstation so when i said the only time i actually wanted to do something that would help me and others this is what i am met with, is the issue.
I'm not sure I understand the exact problem. You couldn't see your own private message (sounds like a glitch)? Or messages you wrote publically don't show up when you log out? Any chance people might have felt like you were rate fishing and reported you? Did you add contact information and requested they contact you outside of Artstation in a way that might seem like spam or even phishing or be categorized as such by a bot or hidden automatically? It probably sounds cynical, but I know I'd be very wary if someone approached me with nothing but a plan and "opportunities" to help "me" and tried to get information. Add even a hint of additional strangeness and that's basically it.
No, just to respond with info like annually, they didn't have to be exact current $ with whatever company. I wanted general info from the source, to contrast against what is "main stream" numbers. Nothing else really, just hey, for your position what is the basic running rate for someone like you. (their ask) Nothing else. Also i tried to use the "report" feature on artstation and always end up NOT using it as it's convoluted to what it used to be like from what i remember, click report go, now its fill out this form, and some options do nothing. To add to thread topic, feel like crap when i eat things i used to be able to eat and now can't, really sucks. idk how 90 year olds are still eating ice cream, i had to stop that at like 28.
So sorry to hear the news that The Mill, MPC (Moving Picture Company) and Mikros Animation, Technicolor are closing after 110 years. They worked on tiles like Detective Pikachu, Bumblebee, Harry Potter to name just a few. They say it might be more than 10,000 employees effected gloably.
Getting shut up again for informing users that if they post 3d viewer files to any site people can take them, while i was on yet again "Art-Station", that i get silenced from posting comments, lol anyway. (its crappy but i will keep posting what happens with that site.)
kind of interesting, about the viewer uploading, they clearly want them to continue doing that but what else could the reason be? ... mmm they support the aye.eye thing so perhaps that, they getting ready to oh idk possibly launch something or are working on things outside of the site to oh idk, perhaps generate 3d material, can we see purchases from that site? as in some sort of view where we can see if anyone has been getting anything for all their works?
It was enough to shut me up so now i am cautiously wondering if all the above is true. anyway //venting(crappy situation)
I am seeing the results of this trying to type out messages to other users especially on youtube, very strange happenings, like restricted communications, you've been told. I will also (if the users of said channel ever responds to the private message i sent) will tell you which channel i posted messages on/to (in the Brawl sticky thread) and it did not transmit. Then you can try and see if the same message i tried to send is able to be sent by you.
