Love summer, i truly do. But trying to work in my office (at home ) 100 degree fahrenheit (38 celsius). Is killing mee, i have not been able to sit normaly and work. even with good ventilation.
^ Me too, can't remember when we've last had a consistent long hot summer here in AUS (38C was for us like a not to uncomfortable above average temp) I mean seems like you folks up north are coping our weather in spades! if what I see on the nightly news is any indication and yeah if an option invest in AC or portable fan forced water cooler's etc, simple ventilation won't cut it above 33C ambient...I'm afraid.
Did a couple of long and painful UV sessions in Maya. I thought that maybe unfold was just made to be... goofy in 2018. Turns out I didn't have the Unfold3D plugin loaded, so maya runs a considerably less useful unwrap routine.
only 90's kids will remember, etc, etc.
Have you tried the Auto Unwrap/Unfold UV's tool that comes the (free) Bonus Tools?
Playing Space Wolf (PC version) Sure, Chaos Marines, just keep spamming your Flamers on my one hero without any healing abilities. Much balance. 10/10. Uninstalled in fury.
spent a week and a half lazin around in Kauai. Back in Alaska today.... really hard to get the motor running again. I want to curl into a ball and sleep until it's sunny again.
And when the train isn't moving forward, I get mopey.
today my dad fell over, and he is fucking heavy and it took me about 25 minutes and the help of a neighbor to get him back up on his feet. its fucking soul destroying.
was forced to resign from a job i had for 3 years for my boss' mistakes. had to refund a class with CGMA and cancel health insurance for my family. hoping i can get things sorted before it impacts my family further. bad day.
i clicked like not to say " i liked reading that", just to acknowledge that i read and saw and damn that sucks man. Karma has a way of working things out so don't get too down, keep on keeping on.
I was debugging some math function in Unreal for like half a day when I found out that code sin/cos doesn't have the same value as node sin/cos... I actually found this out earlier already but I totally forgot about it.
Not sure any of you know what it's like when your supervisor and a person in management is anal and is on your ass as much as they can. On the plus side; I know I need a new line of work. I've learned how to handle demanding people.
I am doing a 1000 piece jigsaw and the kittens in the foreground are really tricky. not sure oif the fur ifrom the whiskers or the paws or the second cat.
On a semi-related note, I woke up this morning to one of the cats sleeping on my head. Looked at my phone to see that my alarm wasn't supposed to go off for another 27 minutes.
Well this news of an Insect Armageddon put a real dampener on my day, probably explains why I hadn't seen our own aussie bull ants around for quite some time.
Found out there's a trend of people ripping Marmoset Viewer files from Artstation to sell fraudulently as their own. I spent half an hour deleting all of my viewer files from the site, but several were already ripped and will now be in circulation forever I suppose.
Luckily for me I sell time, not assets. My value lies in the ability to produce new things on demand. But It's too bad that people will go to such effort just to try and rip others off. They cover up your watermarks, so they know what they're doing is wrong. It's that element of evil intent that annoys me.
After months of trying to break into the industry, I finally had my first phone interview with a studio this morning, so that was pretty awesome. Found out immediately after from my girlfriend that our car was stolen, so that was pretty not awesome.

It's really unfortunate and this has sadly been a thing since day one and from what I hear it's inevitable because of how the 3d files are stored in your GPU while viewing. Same with sketchfab. Maybe a warning or something about this when uploading such a file would be a nice courtesy of Artstation.
Can't open Maya without hating every click. Feeling very lost with my art. Scrap an uninspiring but far along project or push through and hope to fall in love?

My mouse stop working yesterday, had to buy a new one and they didn't have mouse with 5buttons on the store. Now i have to change my hotkeys >insert suicide memes<

Got soaked on the way home, just to find out that my flatmate didn't collect my delivery of new graphic card, even though he was home the whole day, and I won't be able to get it until Monday earliest. Weekend fucked up.
Got enough money to upgrade my incredible pentium 2 core and gt 630 to a ryzen 2700x and rtx 2060 but amazon decided to double charge me for the cpu, now my money is pending waiting for refund and i will lose the gpu sales.
We should've listened too those who know best and may've averted this nation wide crisis, after all the first peoples have survived here for 60,000 years
...as I'm typing this, looking out my bedroom window there's a persistent smoky haze in the still hot 30°C heated air (...just woke up, work 12hr nightshifts as a security guard) while pulling info off the web. Reports of fires in the southern outskirts of the city, probably explains the smoke. I currently board with a long time family friend and her house is located in Hastings, on the Mornington peninsula known as Melbourne's 'greenbeltt' lush diverse habitat but urban encroachment over recent years has increasingly impacted negatively upon this once pristine environment, now a 'perfect storm' of prolonged drought coupled with high temperatures drying everything too a crisp hence setting the scene for a potential dire result seen elsewhere.
Ironically the southeast corner of the continent has a year round temperate climate however prone to bushfires due to unique topography and weather patterns. I'd lived through these events before "1983 Ash Wednesday" and "2009 Black Saturday" and even while serving in the Military had fought the things as backup reserve for local fire authorities...but WOW! nothing like these firestorms, they're unprecedented in both scale and ferocity plus noting that they've burned unabated since July 2019...f*ck 7 MONTHS!!..so conservatively at an educated guess, I'd say will continue well into the new year, at least until early autumn and on top of all that, we're bracing ourselves for another wave of 40+ degree temps...
Total cost!? once all done and dusted, aside from financial which will undoubtedly run into billions, are lives lost, mental/physical suffering, destroyed property, envieonmental degradation...etc, etc
But me personally, the most frightening aspect to this whole apocalyptic scenario is that this is only the beginning of a new norm for us long term..
A national emergency has been declared, the Government has authorised additional deployment of ADF personnel, 3000 Army Reservists alongside further Naval assets such as HMAS Adelaide
Well it's Sunday and the weather gods have thrown us a reprieve with a welcome low 15°C temp slight drizzly rain coating everything here in Hastings, although North East Victoria where the major fire grounds are situated, in and around the Gippsland region remain active. Now during this brief lull, fire authorities are taking full advantage by strengthening containment lines, grading/clearing forest access routes plus conduct search/rescue operations for 4 people at this time deemed missing, also just want to mention the International contribution.
Thus far too my knowledge US Firefighters, arrived last week are now currently deployed on the border between Victoria and New South Wales bolstering nearly 3,000 in total, men and women of the CFA-RFS fighting these fires, in so doing lending their much appreciated expertise. I mean words simply can't express how I personally feel when people leaving behind their loved ones this festive/holiday season, then travelling from the other side of the planet too selflessly put themselves in harms way for a bunch of strangers...is truly heroic, so *THANKYOU* to all those who without hesitation stepped in too help others.
