Guys, i need some inside information and pro tips !
I'm currently making a set for skeleton, and im half-way through concept and sketches. I decompiled the model from game, and looked at the items it had and noticed that the boots wont come off. There is NO slot for boots/legs. Its part of the main 'body' model.
I know i should have checked this out before but i just delved into concepts and made some drawings for him. Now, i have absolutely no problem with the fact that the boots are included (i haven't done the boots yet, kinda why i decompiled: to take a closer look at his weird leg structure)
my problem is: will this hero be re-modelled like the several other heroes that have gone through a similar process ? if you think it will, looking at its current state (not so impressive), do u think i should proceed with making the set or abstain ?
EDIT **** : He has no sets in-game. Most of his "accepted for game" items aren't ingame. Hmmmmm.
im moving to Paris in two months and would like to know if someone here lives there.
i would like to have some info about a place to stay till i rent one or tips to live in France =]
Hello all. I am still rather new to 3D modeling in general and want to try to start my first models for Dota 2. I will probably have many questions along the way. I was wondering if anyone using Maya to make models can tell me how to attach the original textures to the base model for reference? I can't seem to get them on properly. If anyone knows the answer and it is to long to explain here just shoot me a PM.
Luna isn't in the importer anymore (dota 2 client, not test). Since she vanished from the workshop requirements a couple of days ago, I don't know what to think. Maybe it was a bug in the importer with the 6/11 update?

I am surprised that I got my Lina set in ,and one of the chaos knight weapons at the same time . I'm on a very lucky streak
I am curently making a dragon knight helm . Not please with the color scheme atm . I think Ill try to replicate the colors from the shield ; I think there is no contrast in colors or smtin .
congrats to the rest who got the items in , esspeciallu for that pudge set wich looks bad ass .
He's kinda cyborg-superhero looking. The jaw part looks too modern in in design and now that i think it kinda looks like owl variation of the latest Batman. Carpainty orange combined with that gives it a very modern feel. Add some reds on it.
uhm what is this page? what is it showing? what does this renaming and iconchangin mean? sorry i have no clue whatsoever :O
It's files that were added/altered in the update to the Dota 2 test client. The stuff that will be pushed to the main client tomorrow. If your items appear on there, they're pretty much in and will be on the store or in the chest tomorrow, so grats on all the stuff Neox.:)
Personally, I got no single items (see you next month chest) or sets in the game this week, so I am going to drink myself silly and ponder what I must do to make Valve love me.:(
If I am thinking wishfully, my CK set could go in next week with Onilolz and Zaphk's awesome Luna set that also didn't get in yet. Just no one make any other sets equally good before then, okay.
are you kidding me? this means all 3 we made last week are in, thats a crazy rate i expected way more work to be involved until we have few things in - crazy

That's pretty much what I've been doing for the entire past year. It would help if they commented more on what would help get stuff ingame.
It's about time, I'm tired of seeing hero themed wards, way to boring in my opinion. Especially when you have an item that can have so much creativity behind it. The fact that they can't be too animated, follow a specific silhouette, or be tied to a specific hero is pure poppycock in my opinion.

All i can ever think of when i hear poppycock is this,
(ignore the chains, just fixed the masking so they are actually transparent in the middle)
Having some minor problems rigging. The sword keeps getting a bit under his hand, no matter where I move it or where I bind it. Maybe make it larger? In the same subject, what about the size? I really like how the particle matches with it, and don't want to make it too large to cover it up.
Also, any suggestion about the current specular lighting and stuff? Maybe tone down the lighting on the orange part and brighten up the metal?
Sword edge is a bit too smooth and clean. It stands out compared to rest and of CK. It could also be the darker area of the word that makes it stand out.

I have a drawing of that same hairstyle for Luna sitting in my sketchbook. Good thing I wasn't too attached, that looks fantastic. I love the elfy ears addition too.
She'll probably be back on the requirements page and importer soon. The same thing happened with Chaos Knight, he was on it, then the was off it, then back on again.
Zalakzik: looks verry cool , Its nice that you can use the same shader as his body to make it look like running water . I tried to make some items for him but I had 0 inspiration .
Cool morph Zalakzik. I am also working on a morph set. I was think of a shattered meteor concept for armor.....???? Any crits on it?
Ironically, that was partially similar to my idea. I guess you took your cue from the background story of morph . Still, looks nice and nowhere near what I had in my mind.

It means "Congratz! Your item got accepted! "

The low max tricount really hurts the possibilities with this hero, also his animations kinda ruin some of the ideas I had for his left shoulder area

also.. I hate normal maps. So it's all hand painted so far.. I know it's ok to use a flat normal color instead.. but still..
