trying to finish up my killer croc that i started for comic con. does anyone know why he often has cloth wrapped around his arms? i'm debating if i want to bother doing them. his pants still need lots of work
Neo_God: Neato! Looks pretty realistic, although those lips look too dark/pink and are reading as lipstick/effeminate.
You were absolutely right, in fact the first thing she told me was the the lips needed to be more pale, like a man's, haha. I would post updated photos of it, but as of last night I'm now under an NDA, so it'll have to wait until the day she exhibits it.
I'm excited to see it released, I have some work in it that I did like 4 years ago.
Spitty, that really is an awesome rendition of The Killer Croc, totally puts the arkham asylum one to shame so far.
JordanW, I agree that it totally looks miniature (It's the DOF you have on it right now, it looks like a Macro shot from a camera) But it gives it a really nice charm, sorta like a stop-motion set piece or something.

I've never done game foliage before, so here are some northern-themed plants that will go into my plane crash scene. There is a cranberry bush, devils club, fern, fireweed, and a few random seedlings that will be tiny. I'm bound to make more foliage, but thats it for now.
Oh, I also made a few trees but forgot to take a pic
Like the character ez_jamin, but don't quite get his floating kneecap padding.
Great stuff Skippy!
Was on this for a little over an hour staying up past my bedtime. Trying to slowly get to grips with sculpting. This is probably my 3rd attempt with a head, normally in Mudbox but tried Scultris and loving the simplicity - prefer it to Mudbox. I know the nose needs work, and I wasn't using any anatomy reference so the neck and shoulders are just sketched in.
Some pre-vis for item-use animations for our student game.
The gnome here will go round in a 2.5d environment, throwing a steampunk-magitech hammer around, to activate switches and solve puzzles. The easiest way to describe this would be as a mix of Zelda's boomerang, and Portal2d action.

OK tweaks done. Nose and mouth looking much better now. Not sure what else to do, might leave it now, was just a sketch after all. Anything need any major attention?
This is for a school project. Its basically a floating castle that belongs to the Japanese thunder god, there is going to be a mix of steampunk in it as well
Environment progress! I'm pretty much almost done modeling assets, now I have to polish. A few items need spec maps, I'm going to make a few rotting logs and more kinds of foliage, and (of course) I will light my scene.
taylor: that scene is coming together pretty well, but it's looking very clean for a crash site. maybe more debris, more environmental damage (broken trees, scorched earth). perhaps you could even have some small fires? that's all i can really think of for suggestions.

The end result won't be miniature, but I thought the tilt-shift look was interesting in the 2nd pic
awesome work.. love it so far!
love that style though! nice one!
That's pretty awesome Jordan The atmosphere really reminds me of SotC; that's always a good thing.
I agree with other guys about the DOF and slightly messy object placement tho.
Btw, are you going to vertex blend some moss/dirt on top of those bricks? As they are now, they look a tad bare.
Thanks! And I got the job! So all is well!

Creds to gav for setting up the glows and flares to work in engine.
ez_jamin Nice character so far but the forearm and hand look a bit too like plastic.
Final max model, needs some zbrush...
Off to finish painting the textures for a swivel chair now. *BOING
woahh... I'm modelling something for once.
10 second wip.
Oh, I also made a few trees but forgot to take a pic
