trying to finish up my killer croc that i started for comic con. does anyone know why he often has cloth wrapped around his arms? i'm debating if i want to bother doing them. his pants still need lots of work

Guys looking bad ass!
I'd say go with the wraps, or some variant of them. Maybe a tattered reminiscent of a old torn up trench coat like he is always wearing in the cartoon before he'd rip it off and attack the bats. Think it might break up some of the scale work. I always like the way draping stuff looks though.
Maybe play with croc nostrils like you did with the ears, might make the face a tad more menacing.
taylor: that scene is coming together pretty well, but it's looking very clean for a crash site. maybe more debris, more environmental damage (broken trees, scorched earth). perhaps you could even have some small fires? that's all i can really think of for suggestions.
Thanks for the critique! I do have a bit of polishing to do for sure - I'm going to have mounded-up dirt in the terrain from where the plane hits the ground, some broken trees behind it, and some more little plane debris around the area. I will definitely try to make the scene look less clean, thanks.
taylorpelto - reminds me of that tombraider 2 level ie jungle crashed plane.
skybox doesn't seem to gel with rest of scene somehow
How does it not mesh? Is it the color, or the feel of it? I'm lighting my scene now, and it is a much deeper blue (like an early-morning or late evening, sunless blue). I'll keep an eye on that to see if it meshes with my scene, thanks!
I have not played TR2, maybe I'll have to now to see that level
Amazing Ferg! Looks like the sort of creature you would see on an acid trip. You should have done creature designs for the Alice in Wonderland film. :poly142:
that is one sexy, sexy woman areve! I've never seen boobs modeled in that fashion before, but it seems like it worked for you. Those bicepts irk me with that long space of no edge flow....1 more edge loop would make me feel a lot better, but I don't suppose that's a huge issue. I have no critique :P, she looks great!
*edit*
oh, I also kinda feel like you should have 2 edge loops on the forearm and get rid of that one in the middle...just once again feels like too little geometry for deforming
[SF]Three9 - Thanks! yeah I was planing doing the 'usual' way when I retoped, but it ended up like this and as it worked I didn't bother to change it.
Nice I will keep that in mind!
nullfed - thanks, hehe I know, it's been bothering me as well. the septum looks good close-up but not farway, will probably take it away or change it's colour
Areve - aside from the dark spot under the nose, the other things that I noticed were that her eyes looked a little too rounded at the corners, and that her jaw shape looked a little masculine, and awkwardly shaped. I did a little paintover to try and explain myself better. :P
I also smoothed out some of the facial lines you gave her, because it aged her a little bit.
Thanks. I used some leaf brushes to get the base leafy look down first then painted over them adding lighting and other details til they looked more believable.
@Fireflights - Nice paintover, I like the little smirk you gave her too. Not sure if your name is related to the band Fireflight or not, but they're awesome.
Free_Fall banding across the prayer stand looks bad because this texture is hiding structure, not complimenting it. Suggest starting with a simpler base texture and building around the shapes of the model. eg: dirt in recesses, highlights on the proud parts, corners etc.
ps: left curtain looks good, right is too uniform.
Weekend hi poly thing, scanline render with some material tests...
Currently working on this RX7 drift car. Still in high poly stages (as you can see.) Eventually it will go on my portfolio.
This is my first car model.

Thankya!
And no, it's not related, heh (it's just in reference to a phoenix)... but I'll check 'em out!

thanks fireflight! There was something about the face I didn't really like but I couldn't put my finger on it, this helped
Still I wanted her to have that square jaw to make her not that pretty. I will have a look at it again

Plz, I know about the mic ^^
AHAHAHAH
I'll probably make a thread after I make just a little more progress on the textures.
3 and a half weeks until hand in. Need to do a damage pass, speed-tree pass and finish off some of the street buildings. Trees currently placeholder.
pixely pixels
firebert: whoa whoa... slow down broseph. Let's just have dinner and see what happens.

Good stuff from everyone else.
@Ferg: You are a real artist! keep them coming, I love your works!
You kinda gave it away with the file name:
Heres the final version of the biker girl

marshai banana - hahaa ;D
you just made her not sexy..... haha
Kind of makes me want to create a little environment scene out of it...
