Daaark, I hope they settle that at some time too... WTF was the point of Walt? He hasn't returned, and nothing has pointed to his significance with the island and his powers.

The Dharma Initiative torturer? You mean Radzinsky? I'm not sure there's a connection between him and Jacob. Radzinsky is ultimately going to blow his head off inside the swan station, remember? Inman told Desmond that the stain on the ceiling was Radzinsky.

Its not my theory I'm afraid. :)

Also someone suggested the reason so many babies die on the island is because Facob (maybe satan) tries to manifest himself inside them as soon as they are born. If so, what about Aaron?

Aaron wasn't conceived on the island. The whole thing was babies that have been conceived on the island die.. not babies in general.

Did they ever explain the injections? I can't remember...
I think it was passed off as paranoid precautions?

Yeah they never explained the injections yet AFAIK. If there was in fact a sickness on the island (as indicated by Radzinsky, Inman and Rousseau), they haven't said anything about it since season 3.

Daark, the Walt thing is weird I agree. In season 2 (3? Can't remember..) Mrs. Clue asked Michael if he had ever seen Walt "appear in places he wasn't supposed to be". That means Walt either has the ability to teleport, travel between planes of reality. Though Walt seems to be gifted regardless, as indicated by his ability to quick-learn knife throwing (amongst other things). Pretty interesting. I'm sure they'll explain something more about him in the last season.

I don't think he was referring to conception. He said Facob tries to manifest in them as they are born, which Aaron WAS born there ;)
It's an interesting theory, but the loophole to that theory is that only children conceived on the island die. Maybe he infects the sperm? ;) Anyway, it would be nice to get the birthing issue answered too.

It really feels like they'll need more than one season to answer a lot of this stuff. I also suspect that the writers will eventually release a book detailing things we've missed, once this is all done ;)

Wasn't Sun's baby conceived on the island but was later born off of it and the reverse for Clair? Or maybe they never answered who the father of Sun's baby actually was...

I think the baby mortality rate on the island might have something to do with the pocket of electromagnetic energy or some other unseen "scientific" force. Radiation scattered from the bomb? They still have to explain the whispers and what drove Rousseau's crew bonkers, or was that just cabin fever? Maybe facob playing head games...

Arron was close to full term, might have been strong enough already when he arrived, and just needed a little help from the injections. Sun might have gotten off soon enough but she did run into some problems off the island.

didn't juliet confirm that it was Jin's when she did the sonogram thing?

thought this was already said to be The Others, as hinted at multiple times. doesn't make it any less weird though I guess.

Yeah, Juliet confirmed the conception of the baby put it into the time they were on the island. Sun was suppose to be unable to get pregnant, which is one of those 'healing' abilities that haven't been explained yet either. Until this last week, I was assuming that Locke was alive because the island healed him... obviously not ;)

Ahh cool that makes a little more sense. The others huh, I forgot how freaky they where...

I thought the Dr told them it was Sun but later told her it was Jin. I think he said it initially was her because her father would do something to his clinic or Jin would be shamed in some way.

So that confirms it, one conceived on the island, born off with possible complications. One conceived off, born on seems to be healthy.

That's what I was trying to remember too. I was thinking it was the reverse. The Dr didn't want to tell Sun that she couldn't have a baby, because she was her father's offspring, so they said it was Jin. I could have it backwards though.

So I wonder will Jacob crawl out of the statue and revive the real Locke again? Then the two Lockes will have an epic knife fight :D He's one of my favourite characters, don't want to see him die. :(

my idea is that what is happening now already happened in the past.
Which means that they are in a loop that they cant leave. It will start all over again.
For example, in the dharma videos miles dad had a problem in one of his hands, and in the last episode we see why. He screwed his hand when the crane fell on top of it.

Which means that they are in some sort of loop.
Meaning that jacbo knew locke would kill him, that why he went ttry to get them the island again, so that everything could happen again. Meaning that locke will be alive again and the bad guy cant possess his body, thus imposibilitating him to kill jacob.

Yeah but they were trying to change the reality that they already lived through...thats kind of the point. If they change the timeline, Miles' dad doesn't have a problem with his hand, he's just incredibly dead. :)

If you ever decide to watch it, the show is great to watch on dvd. There's no waiting involved, and that's one of the worst parts abotu Lost, the waiting.

Watching it on DVD is the best way to watch it. But then you have to deal with commercials and being caught up.

Waiting from week to week isn't that bad, I kind of like it. It gives people a chance to talk about theories and ponder last weeks episode. It's the waiting months after a season ender that really hurts.

Blenderhead - but like Miles suggested, what if blowing up the nuke is exactly what is SUPPOSED to happen? I mean, Mile's dad hurts his hand and then still films those later Dharma videos, which means he didn't die. The nuke might have been the initial opening of the energy cavity, which is why they had to cement the whole thing over in the first place. Razdzinsky was also still alive, since Inman said he blew his brains out in the swan.

There IS a twist though, which Miles and Faraday also explained. The time traveler is a variable. When they went back in time, it's true that nothing can really be change, since it already happened. But the to the time traveler, this isn't their past, it's their present. That's why they can die, that's why they can change things.

I think they left that plot open to screw with people. There's a possibility that blowing up the nuke is what was meant to happen all along, which sets forth all events that follow, continuing over and over. But there's also a possibility that this nuke did in fact vaporize the exotic matter and caused the time rift to correct itself and in fact erase the latter existence of Dharma and flight 815's arrival to the island.

    Too many possibilities!

IMO Half the greatness of the show comes not particularly from waiting, but, as vig mentioned, the talks and theorys that go between fans, and all the shit that some people catch and you don't.

I can guarantee you there will be lots of people that watch the full show after it's all on dvd and enjoy it, but they will never see/hear/experience nearly the amount of shit that we do as a constant audience - there's simply too much to digest at once, which is why time in between episodes help.

I really hope there's a book after all this so it doesn't go to waste. one that explains and points out all the clues in all the episodes and whatnot, and how it all ties together.

    so awesome.

@Vassago - there's absolutely nothing that says the nuke even went off dude. remember - flash to WHITE. I'm calling it now, they time traveled, and that's what the white is about. nuke coulda went off, but I'm thinking likely not. (either way, if it did, they totally are outta there).

just sayin, all your theories are based around the fact that it went off. you have to take into account all the possibilities.

Bounchfx: You have a very good point. While I still think it detonated, there really is nothing more than a white flash, which could just be another time slip. It could be something new even. Just adds to the anticipation of the next season :) Also, that's a deep damn hole. She could have detonated it and had little result on the surface. (The government detonates nukes underground with no major damage on the surface)

So Kate, Sun, Rose, and Juliet will just be really itchy?

As for Locke holding the white and black piece, it's just Ginger Or Marie Ann all over again.

I hope this next season begins in a basement, with Doc Brown drawing a timeline on a blackboard, and explaning how they are in the alternate 2007, and where Biff turned the island into a casino, and Principal Strickland has gone all trigger happy.

I love where this show has gone so far. I thought initially babies couldn't be born on the island because somehow the island was misplaced in time. Thus nothing that hasn't existed in the past couldn't be born there, would also explain how people that die in the present could be alive on the island. All this seems to have been rendered moot.
I love the dualities that have been created on the show. I'm re watching the seasons again from the beginning and there's just so many things that are cyclical. Also I'm wondering if John Lock has ever been himself. In the first season he seems very sure of himself and it's when he finally meets Ben later that he starts to act very insecure he sorta goes back and forth, there's certainly two sides of the character.
I wonder if we have been seeing two timelines at once throughout the whole series?

Now that would be the ultimate mindfuck! I definately think a possible ending to the series would be that this turns out to be the ##th time they have been trying to correct their 'events', but turn out resetting it all over agqain. When working with time travel, different dimensions(4th dimension w00t!!1!1) are automatically included after all. Maybe they reset the whole course of events to eventually save the world even(kind of far-fetched, but possible)!

I've thought for a long time that the ending of Lost next year will have the Losties plane crashing back down on the island, and the last frame of the season will show Jacks eye... Which means that nothing that they do will have any change or impact at all, because fate is fate, and history is already written.

Jesus fucking christ, if they pull that "the end is the begining you have to start a

I wasted 2 month of my life on the dark tower series and fucking loved it up to the end, whick was just a loop back to the first book. Biggest. Cop-ouy. Ever. That to me wasn't some mind blowing shit, it was an author being a lazy piece of shit douche bag. Write a real ending lost writers. Don't be a stephen king.

whoa, my spelling sucks on the google phone post. i swear: i speak english as a first language, wasnt drinking, and wasnt super worked up. google phone isnt the best piece of hardware for ranting on the internet with, hehe..

i totally understand that the ending isnt going to be satisfying to everyone, but god damn it i just want a definitive ending. no movies. no spin offs. just a nicely contained six season show that has an ending. it doenst even have to make sense. id settle for the statue coming to life, stomping the shit out of everyone and walking into the sunset, just so long as i know that its finally over.

the only movie/book/show ive seen/read where the time loop shit didnt piss me off was twelve monkies, but i think that the main part of that is that i didnt invest a huge chunk of my time into it. i was in and out in less than two hours and didnt have to invest a lot of mental energy into digesting it.
